Regarding the dog believed to be abandoned currently roaming in Linville, all over Linville no specific location…

This dog is severely underweight for its size. If you live in the area, ⚠️be cautious with how much you feed him. ⚠️Feeding him too much, too quickly, can and will make him sick, fatally sick- it’s called “Refeeding Syndrome”

For a dog this big but also so tiny we need to once again work together.

If this dog decides to find a safe place to set up its base camp- Please only feed him dog food and no more than 1/2 a cup every few hours. Please contact us for complete feeding instructions if this dog accepts food from you.

Please only feed him if you are ok with the dog learning you are a food source! It will be back!

DO NOT CHASE. The dog will not come to you! The best thing to do is shake a bag of food or treats so it hears where a food source is. Leave A LITTLE BIT of food, park somewhere a good distance away and report to us if the dog comes to eat.

This is a dog we would like to help but our kennels remain full. We need to move all 3 dogs before bringing in more.

Located in Avery County, NC. You do not need to be local to foster or adopt.

There is nothing worse in rescue than losing puppies or kittens. Baby animals just hurt you differently, unfortunately her sisters didn’t make it but Bagel completed her Parvo treatment and is looking for a foster home to quarantine in, or a foster to adopt home. Please send us a message if you’re interested🩷She is 8 weeks old and weighs 6 Lbs. Bagel has short short legs and estimated to weigh less than 40lbs when full grown.

Beatrix is doing well with her Parvo treatment at the emergency vet and gets to come “home” tonight.

One problem,
Beatrix doesn’t have a home. Located in Avery County, NC

This 6Lb girl is 7.5 weeks old and is looking for an experienced foster who has knowledge about Parvo and preventing the spread of disease. Beatrix did not have the severe symptoms her sisters developed and got treatment before the worst happened. We simply could not handle the idea of sending another baby dog to Heaven. There is nothing worse in rescue, NOTHING, than sending puppies or kittens to Heaven. It’s the WORST.

Her foster would have:

-No dogs or,

-Fully vaccinated adult dogs, who are up to date

Her foster would be able to:

-Isolate her to a bedroom or ventilated garage for at least the next week.
-give liquid medicine orally twice a day

Her foster will be provided with:
A baby gate for constant play space
A large crate that connects to the baby gate
Unlimited potty pads, toys, food
Cleaning supplies

Her foster does not necessarily need to be local, it’s more important her foster is experienced with Parvo, preventing the spread of disease, and isolating Beatrix.

Parvo is a vicious disease. We preach it constantly.

Parvo killed two of Roxy’s puppies today. Parvo sent them over the rainbow bridge. We vaccinated them. We tested them for Parvo on intake. Those things don’t matter WHEN YOU LET PUPPIES TOUCH GRASS. We thought we got them early enough.. we thought we were just in time.

Roxy’s puppies had a rescue waiting on them, homes ready for them up north. This isn’t fair. Their futures were waiting with open arms

WE HATE SEEING PUPPIES IN GRASS. VACCINATE ALL PUPPIES AT 6 WEEKS OLD. 9 WEEKS OLD. 12 WEEKS OLD. AND 15 WEEKS OLD. 4 ROUNDS. 1,2,3,4!

Please consider helping the rescue fundraise for lifesaving emergency medical treatment for the remaining puppy🐾This will cost a minimum of $1200 and we need to act quickly. The cost for the first two pups was $458. We do not want to lose another baby.

Friday Update: Scooter’s is aware of the very skinny possibly-dumped dog in Linville. Please know one of the girls went and the dog is very scared and keeps his or her distance.

Update: Waldo is adopted!

4 dog friendly dogs need out! We have taken in 12 dogs in 10 days. We have 4 kennels. The math doesn’t math.

⚠️RESCUE TRANSFERS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY⚠️Located in Elk Park, NC with transport options available. We can’t believe the story attached to each dog. A LOT OF PEOPLE NEED TO DO BETTER. Avery County NC, we have NO animal control.

⚠️We are BEYOND CAPACITY! ⚠️No more intakes! No room for anything critical! Space needed! We don't like this feeling.

1. First dog: "Sadie" RESCUE ONLY 43 Lbs Sadie is a young pregnant dog abandoned in the middle of no where. She was trapped this morning.
Sadie is dog friendly and shy. She is not aggressive.
She does not seem "super" pregnant but she's definitely pregnant.

2. Second dog: "Molly" RESCUE OR ADOPTION 53Lbs. Molly is a young spayed dog abandoned at a gas station tied to a tire pump. She is very friendly and and is used to whatever. Molly is UTD on all vaccines and due to her age may not be best fit for someone with small kids.

3. Third dog: "Roxy" RESCUE OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT (until spayed) 32 Lbs
Roxy and her 7 week old pups arrived to us last week. She weened them, then took in an orphaned puppy who wasn't hers! Great dog!!! Now done with motherhood she needs her next adventure.

4. Fourth dog: Waldo, 48 Lbs.
UPDATE: ADOPTED
SANCTUARY NEEDED.
Waldo was found as he was being hanged to a tree. He is VERY VERY dog friendly and finds comfort in a pack. We have many videos and photos to prove his dog friendliness. Waldo loves adults and is housebroken. He does not like to be kenneled and has permanent trauma you can see from his hanging, causing excessive drooling (but not constantly) along with the fear of being left. Waldo is a Redbone/Pit and barks like a coonie. He deserves future more than most any dog we have taken in.

All girls thrive from a spa day. Angelica’s rescuer is also a groomer and she’s doing fantastic. She only weighs 40lbs and it’s estimated she’s 30lbs underweight. Angelica is only a puppy, no more than 10 months old. Thank you Carolina Pyrenees Rescue, for taking a needy Avery County dog.

Their reply when we found out about Angelica and began the trapping process:

“I don’t have room but I’m making it now! Can you drive her to us near Charlotte the minute you trap her?”

And that’s on how to get team work to make the dream work. We are so happy for you, Angelica Underdog!! You deserve the best future of all time and it only goes up from here. You’re in the best hands possible. Make us proud out there, we hope you forget every second of life before you went into the trap.
