From the Elizabethtown Fire Department: Prayers to the Druen family and our Brothers and Sisters at the Elizabethtown Fire Department.

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of longtime Firefighter Ryan Druen. He faithfully served the Elizabethtown Fire Department for 24 years as a dedicated engineer.

Ryan was known for the pride he took in the fire service and for the time he invested into the next generation of firefighters. He poured countless hours of training, truck knowledge, and real-world experience into fellow firefighters, always making sure they were prepared and confident on the job. His willingness to teach left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Please keep his family, friends, and the entire Elizabethtown Fire Department in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, brother. We have it from here.

Help out our brothers to the south!

RAFFLE BENEFIT FOR INJURED LOCAL FIREMAN

On April 10th, our brother Chase Dile responded with the Glasgow Fire Department as mutual aid to a large residential structure fire in Barren County, KY. While operating inside the fire, Chase sustained severe burns to his body and was flown to TriStar Medical Center in Nashville. Chase has gone through surgery and is currently recovering while receiving further treatment.

Chase is a first year firefighter and recently came on shift after graduating from the Kentucky Fire Academy. Along with recent graduation, Chase also recently married his wife, Brianna. To support them both during this unfortunate time, we’re asking to participate in our fundraising raffle. Workers Comp will help cover may aspects of Chase’s recovery, however we are looking to cover other costs including hotel, fuel, bills, etc. All proceeds coming from this raffle will go directly towards supporting the Dile family.

This raffle is open to all FOOLS and non-FOOLS members. Tickets are $5 each or $25 for 6. Winners will be drawn May 1st at 7 PM. The first draw will be for the Council Tool 30D Halligan. Immediately after, there will be a second draw for the McPeak Wedge. Once the winner is drawn, we will ship/deliver the winning item directly to you. Please consider supporting a brother in need.

Think your crew has good mask up times?
Time to put it to the test…

Now until Wednesday April 1st, we want to see the best methods and times.

HERE’S THE RULES:
- You must be a VC FOOLS member, your partner doesn’t have to be.
- You and a single crew member must video yourselves masking up.
- The video must be commented on this post.
- Starting with your gloves and/or air cylinder turned on is optional.
- You and your crew member must be have all gear on correctly, on air, and show complete skin coverage.
- You and your crew members COMBINED time will be used to determine the winners.

WHAT DO YOU GET?
The top three pairs of crew members will get first choice of the following:

- Two Rechargeable Box Lights and Two Leather Box Light straps (Sunrei/Box31 Leather)
- Two Custom Leather Chin Straps (Box31 Leather)
