📣 A Message to Our Wirt County Football & Cheer Families and Community

To our families, athletes, and community,

We know there have been many questions surrounding this upcoming season, and we want to take a moment to share our vision and reassure everyone that our focus has always been—and will always be—the kids.

We are proud to announce the beginning of a new chapter with the formation of Wirt County Tigers Youth Foundation, Inc. This organization was created with one purpose in mind: to build a youth football and cheer program that puts children first in every decision we make.

This isn’t just about playing football and cheering on Friday nights. It’s about creating opportunities for our youth to learn discipline, teamwork, leadership, respect, accountability, and pride in representing Wirt County.

Our commitment is simple:

🏈 The kids always come first.

❤️ Our community is the backbone of this organization. Without the support of parents, families, volunteers, sponsors, and local businesses, this program cannot succeed. We want this to be a program the entire community feels ownership in and is proud to support.

🤝 Transparency, honesty, and open communication are core values of this foundation. We believe families deserve to know what’s happening within their organization. We are committed to operating with integrity, being financially accountable, listening to our community, and communicating openly about decisions that affect our athletes and families.

We are building this program with the goal of creating something our community can be proud of for many years to come—a program centered on character, opportunity, accountability, and a positive experience for every child.

We Need Your Help

For this season to be successful, we need players and cheerleaders. Every child who registers helps build stronger teams and keeps youth sports thriving in Wirt County. If you’ve been considering signing your child up, we encourage you to join us. Every registration truly makes a difference.

We are also looking for dedicated community members to serve on our Board of Directors and in volunteer leadership positions. A successful nonprofit isn’t built by one person—it’s built by people who care. Whether your strengths are in fundraising, finance, event planning, coaching, communications, or simply wanting to help our youth succeed, we welcome your involvement.

This foundation belongs to the community, and we want it to reflect the people it serves.

As we move forward, our promise is to lead with integrity, make decisions that put children first, and work together to create a program that every athlete, parent, coach, volunteer, and community member can be proud to call their own.

If you have questions, would like to volunteer, are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, or would like to register your child, please reach out. We would love to hear from you.

Together, we can build a stronger future for Wirt County’s youth.

The kids come first. The community stands beside them. Together, we are stronger.

— Wirt County Tigers Youth Foundation, Inc.

Wednesday July 22nd practice will be FOOTBALL ONLY at the ballfields 6-8

Thursday everyone will practice and Friday will be football only per original schedule.

After the circulating parent petition was brought to the board, the board voted last night as requested. We ask that everyone be respectful to those who decided to leave the board and those who decided to stay. It was an uncomfortable and extremely stressful situation to be in. But we heard you. We know there is a lot of questions and we will get them answered for you this week. We cannot express enough to please remain respectful during this transition. As always, the main goals is to provide these kids with the season they deserve. Thank you!

📣 Practice Update – Tuesday, July 21

Due to the Energy Express play, there will be NO football or cheer practice on Tuesday, July 21, so our athletes who are participating can enjoy their performance.

We will see everyone back at practice on Wednesday, July 22, at 5:30 PM! 💙🧡

If your child had a great time at their first practice, please help us spread the word and invite their friends to come join Wirt Youth Football & Cheer! We are still looking for more players to help fill our teams.

Football requires enough players to safely and successfully field a team, and we need more athletes to make this season possible. Every new player makes a difference!

Thank you for your continued support—we’ll see everyone Wednesday!

We may have scholarships available from local businesses offering to donate to help the kids play in our community.

Important Parent Meeting Reminder – Today at 5:30 PM

Please join us at the baseball fields at 5:30 PM for our parent meeting.

I understand there have been a lot of recent changes, and with those changes come many questions. I will do my best to answer every question honestly and provide all the information I have. I believe everyone deserves accurate information rather than relying on rumors or speculation.

Over the past week, there has been a significant amount of work behind the scenes to ensure our organization is operating according to all applicable rules, regulations, and legal requirements. While this process has been time-consuming, it is necessary to build a strong and accountable program for our athletes.

I also ask for your patience and understanding. Like many of our volunteers, I work a full-time job while dedicating countless hours to making sure our football and cheer programs are organized, compliant, and focused on what matters most—our kids.

If you’ve heard rumors or have concerns, please give me the opportunity to address them directly. Transparency is important to me, and I want everyone to leave the meeting with the same accurate information.

Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing everyone this evening. -Amy

🏈 WCYF Jersey Return Request 🏈

As we prepare for the upcoming season, we’re trying to locate several Wirt County Youth Football (WCYF) game jerseys that may still be with families from previous seasons.

If you have any WCYF jerseys at home, please contact Amy Ashley and arrange to return them. We’d greatly appreciate having them back by Friday, July 24.

The following jersey numbers are currently missing:
1, 3, 8, 11, 12, 18–40, 44–48, 55–59, 62, 63, 66–70, 75–79, 81–84, 86, 87, and 93–98.

No harm, no foul—we know life gets busy and things happen! These jerseys have only been used for a few seasons and still have plenty of life left in them. Returning them will help ensure we have enough matching uniforms for every player this season.

If you have one of these jerseys, please reach out to , and I’ll gladly arrange a time to pick it up or meet you.

Thank you for helping support our players and our program! 🧡🖤

👟 WCYF Cleat Swap – Monday at Practice! 🧡🖤

Have extra cleats your child has outgrown? Looking for a pair before the season starts? Join our WCYF Cleat Swap at Monday’s first practice!

Cleat Swap

* Bring gently used football cleats your player has outgrown.
* Players are welcome to take a pair if they need them.
* Let’s help keep every athlete on the field and ready to play!

Cleat Color

WCYF does NOT require a specific cleat color. Feel free to let your player’s personality shine—sometimes colorful cleats are the easiest way to spot your kiddo from the stands!

LKC Regulations

⚠️ Metal cleats are NOT permitted under LKC regulations.

Baseball Field Reminder

Please remember that football cleats are not allowed on the infield of baseball fields. Help us protect our community facilities by following all posted rules.

Player & Parent Reminder

At Monday’s first practice, all parents/guardians will be asked to read and sign the WCYF Code of Conduct. Your cooperation helps us provide a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers.

Thank you for helping make this a great season!
Wirt County Youth Football (WCYF) 🧡🖤
