Members of the EAC have contributed their talents and expertise to many undertakings in the Elizabeth community and in Union County: 9/11 Memorial Advisory Committee, Historic Midtown Elizabeth Community action Partnership, Union County Theater Project, The Elizabeth Playhouse, St. We have also partnered with other arts organizations. In 2000, we co-produced the exhibit, Elizabeth through Artists’
Eyes, at Boxwood Hall National Historic Site on E. It featured fifteen artists from the past to the present presented views of Elizabeth. We have done shows together with the First Presbyterian Church, Broad Street, Elizabeth and with the Midtown Elizabeth Special Improvement District. The EAC had a close working relationship with the Elizabeth Playhouse. Our artists exhibited in the lobby area and we helped to promote Playhouse productions. The EAC also promotes the work of individual local artists, writers and performers. We provide advice, encouragement and resources. We curate and help install arts exhibits. We organize performances and poetry readings. Artists and performances from outside the area also contact the EAC for information and advice about local venues and cultural resources. At the heart of all great cities is a vital and flourishing artistic and cultural scene. Elizabeth deserves no less.
