It was the perfect day to come together and create a home for G. This is his first apartment after couch surfing for three years.

He was overwhelmed and said, “I never expected all of this.” That was followed by lots of hugs!

We couldn’t have done this without our wonderful donors and volunteers. Thank you, Susan, Bill, Scott, Jon, and Allen, for everything you did today. Your generosity, hard work, and kindness helped turn an empty apartment into a home.

We are so grateful to our community for making moments like this possible.

Super sweet and very quiet young “K,” who is no longer homeless, was quietly thrilled with the transformation from a completely empty apartment to a fully furnished home.

And here’s a fun story...

When we first meet with a client, we ask about their wishes for a color scheme and always explain that we will do our best with the donations we have available. Well, “K” told us she really liked black and white. Heather and I looked at each other and said, “We’ll try our best!”

Fast forward to moving day. We opened the door to the sofa room at our storage facility, and there it was—a black-and-white sofa, unclaimed and ready for use! We were absolutely giddy.

This is why we are so grateful for every donation our community provides. You never know when the perfect item will be exactly what someone is hoping for. Thank you for making moments like this possible.

“K’s” little kitten was also ecstatic about the new furniture and wasted no time running, jumping, and exploring. 🐱

As always, a huge thank-you to our movers, who consistently show up, work hard, and help make these house-to-home transformations happen.

Our amazing crew of movers and driver did it again! They worked a miracle!

With teamwork, skill, and determination, they carefully disassembled this futon to get it through a very tight space and then reassembled it perfectly in its new home.

We appreciate their hard work and dedication so much! And we think it looks great in R’s apartment!

We were thrilled to help D set up her first home! She is a hardworking mom of an almost 2-year-old and also the guardian of her teenage brother and sister.

Special thanks to our moving crew and setup team, and to all of the generous people who donated the wonderful items we were able to bring her!

And an EXTRA special thanks to our two new volunteers, who moved in a new dryer for her, hooked it up, and also fixed up her washer so it works better for her!

We were so honored to help B and her three children turn their empty apartment into a warm, welcoming home. With new beds and furniture, their space is now filled with comfort and care.

B said it best: “It is so beautiful and homey—my kids are going to be so excited.”

Moments like this are why we volunteer. Thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, and heart to make this possible for such a deserving family. 💛

T was so thankful for the chance to start over. With a job, a place of his own, and the wonderful support of his community, he’s on his way. We loved making his space special with the Cubs décor!

We are so grateful for our partnership with Sacred City Church! Their team supports our mission in meaningful ways by serving clients every other month and finding creative ways to give back in between.

In March, they embraced the theme of “light” by organizing a lightbulb and floor lamp drive for us. This thoughtful effort made a huge impact, providing items we regularly need and often have to purchase.

Thank you, Sacred City, for continuing to shine your light and support our work in such practical and generous ways!
