Join AYUDH Chicago this winter in spreading warmth, kindness, and hope to those in need! ❄️ As the temperature drops, let’s come together to brighten lives through our Winter Donation Drive, running from November 9 to January 4. This annual initiative is a chance to make a meaningful impact by donating much-needed items like pantry staples (canned goods, rice, pasta, cooking oil, etc.), condiments and snacks, essentials like tea, coffee, and broth, warm clothing (winter coats, socks, gloves, etc.), and toiletries such as soap, shampoo, and toothpaste. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, goes a long way in helping families stay warm and nourished this season.

If you're able to donate physical items, please drop them off on the left side of the altar in the MA Center Chicago Satsang Hall. Unable to donate physical goods? Monetary contributions are also welcome and greatly appreciated. Together, we can fill plates, warm hearts, and bring joy to our community.

For any questions or additional information, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]. Let’s join hands to make this winter a season of giving and love! ✨

🌸🌹🔥🔥🔥🔥Ravana Dahan symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, a central theme in Diwali celebrations. Through the construction of Ravana, we emphasize that the act of burning the effigy is not one of destruction but rather a powerful symbol of purification. Through Ravana Dahan, we are reminded to eliminate the negativity within ourselves, allowing positive values to flourish. 🌸🌹🔥🔥🔥🔥

As our dearest AMMA says “fire represents the spoken word as well as the principle of consciousness. The celebration is in the destruction of the evil power of the asura (negative forces). We have to make these into occasions for destroying the ego and awakening the awareness.”

Building the Ravana effigy was a collaborative effort by AYUDH Chicago, blending creativity, teamwork, and dedication amongst a busy schedule while coordinating an AYUDH-led Diwali satsang at MACC. The team used sustainable materials for the effigy, one of AYUDH America's main goals emphasizing their commitment to environmental responsibility even in tradition. Volunteers worked tirelessly until 1 am, designing and assembling the effigy to reflect both the grandeur and symbolic depth of Ravana in the Ramayana. This hands-on experience brought together young people with a shared purpose, creating not just an effigy but also lasting memories of teamwork and cultural expression.

🌸🌹🔥🔥🔥🔥Here’s a glimpse behind the scenes of the construction process and some of the photos from the actual burning!🌸🌹🔥🔥🔥🔥
