The Desert Star Lions Club was happy to donate a birthday cake to Vista Hills Health Care Center / Avir at Lomaland for residents celebrating their birthdays. We are grateful for the opportunity to help make their celebrations a little more special, and we truly appreciate the warm welcome and thanks from everyone at the center. Happy birthday to all the residents who celebrated! 🎂🥳

November 13th is just around the corner, and the El Paso Desert Star Lions are busy preparing for our 3rd Annual Lions Golf Tournament!

Whether you’re an avid golfer or just enjoy playing for fun, we’d love to have you join us. To reserve your spot, please contact Lion Henry Castillo at (915) 726-1068.

What a great service project! Members of the El Paso Desert Star Lions Club served as ushers and provided assistance to individuals with visual impairments during the “Dining in the Dark” dinner.

El Paso Desert Star Lions Club is proud to help keep the El Paso community clean and beautiful. During our recent service project at Scenic Drive Observatory Point, members swept walkways, pulled weeds, cleaned and polished the binoculars, and cleared the parking lot of litter and broken glass.

Working together to care for our community is always rewarding, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact through service.

The El Paso Desert Star Lions Club proudly recognizes the outstanding volunteer service provided by the following individuals during the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) Camp held at Manzano Mountain Retreat.

Lion Donaji Garcia Reade served as a dedicated RYLA Camp Counselor, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to campers throughout the week.

Lion Trisha and Rebeca Reade generously volunteered transportation for campers to the camp, helping ensure a safe and successful arrival for participants.

The El Paso Desert Star Lions Club was proud to award a Lions Club Grant in the amount of $2,000 to Lion Miguel Palomar, Chief Executive Officer of the Visually Impaired and Blind Experience (VIBE), a nonprofit organization, during last night’s general meeting.

El Paso VIBE transforms the lives of blind and visually impaired adults, ages 18 and older, throughout El Paso and West Texas by fostering independence, upholding dignity, and promoting full social participation through progressive skills development, effective advocacy, and collaborative community engagement.

This grant will directly support the purchase of Meta Rebound Smart Glasses, PenFriend recording devices, and white canes, providing essential tools that help individuals live more independently.

VIBE’s vision is to lead the way toward a thriving El Paso and West Texas community where blind and visually impaired adults live with independence, dignity, and full participation in every aspect of life.

We are honored to support VIBE and its mission to empower members of our community through meaningful resources and opportunities.
