Obituary
Delores P. Wells, 85, of Beaumont, Texas was called to eternal rest on January 31, 2026.
Services are Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Johnson Memorial Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00am. Repast to follow at the Community Center.
She was a long-time resident of Beaumont, Texas, for over 65 years, a place she proudly called home and where she created countless memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Delores journey begins after she graduated from Charlton Pollard High school in 1959 where She enjoyed spending time with her classmates.
Delores dedicated her time working at Baptist Hospital formally known as Women and children Hospital and Piccadilly Cafeteria as a line supervisor. From there she worked at Beaumont Living Center in Dietary and proceeded working at American Building Maintenance as a night-time Supervisor. Once she retired from Baptist Hospital, she started volunteering for Beaumont Independent School District as a Foster Grandparent.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal lord and savior. She was baptized at East Mount Olive Baptist Church. There she joined the Usher Board. Later in her life she joined Johnson Memorial Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Albert Nonette as a faithful and dedicated Angel Usher and a Missionary.
Delores leaves and cherishes her memories with her late husband Herman Wells, her loving children Kenneth Perkins (Linda) of New Zealand and LaTonya Wells of Beaumont, Texas, Grandchildren: Kendrick Perkins (Vanity) Kayne Perkins, Mi' Yuna Richards, Eric Richards Jr. and a host of Nieces, Nephews, great grandchildren, great Nieces and Nephews.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents George and Mattie Perkins, brothers James Perkins, Johnnie Perkins, Sister Jo Ann Harrington and Grandchildren: Ja' Kyi'ren Smith Jr, Armani Smith.
She enjoyed watching Basketball games, the Price is Right, Young and the Restless, Bold and Beautiful, talking to her sister on a daily basis, spending quality time with her grandchildren, attending various events, traveling out of town, wearing her jewelry and spending time with family and friends.
