A love letter to their daughter became a story now reaching families everywhere.

Congratulations to CEA Member, Gina Martinez and her husband, Nick Hirsch, on becoming published authors with their children’s book, Oh, Baby Bear.

Inspired by their daughter, Luna, the book celebrates the excitement, wonder, and many questions that come with welcoming a new baby. Their heartfelt story recently reached the Top 10 in Children’s Books for Grandparents on Amazon!

We love seeing members of our community turn meaningful ideas into something that can connect with and inspire others.

El Paso stories belong on every stage, and CEA Member Valeria Contreras is helping bring them there.

The award-winning filmmaker has been selected for the fifth cohort of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) Director Incubator, a competitive program supported by Netflix that provides emerging directors with production grants and tailored industry mentorship.

Through films like Homesick and her upcoming feature, Oranges, Valeria brings the experiences, perspectives, and complexity of U.S.-Mexico border communities to the screen with authenticity and purpose.

Her selection is an exciting recognition of the talent being cultivated right here in our region and the importance of creating opportunities for diverse voices to tell their own stories.

Congratulations, Valeria, on this incredible achievement. We look forward to seeing where your storytelling takes you next.
