Jackets for Kids season has begun! 🗣
Last year, you all helped us grant 575 children a brand-new jacket, just in time for the winter season. That means that students from the ages of 3 to 18 years old from 13 different schools around El Paso had a proper coat for the cold temps thanks to you!
It is now time to team up and make an impact for this year's winter!
As you might know, rising costs for basic needs also mean families will be prioritizing housing, food, transportation, healthcare, and more, leaving limited resources for appropriate winter clothing. To add, many children from families facing transportation and financial barriers spend extended periods outdoors walking to and from school or waiting at bus stops. For a child without a properly fitting winter jacket, those cold mornings can affect their comfort, health, and ability to arrive at school ready to learn. For some, that lack of a proper jacket might even determine whether they will attend school for the day or not.
This is where you can help, and here's how:
💙Make a Donation: Every contribution matters, and just $20 can provide one brand-new winter jacket.
💙Start a Workplace Fundraiser: Invite your coworkers to create a team and set a fundraising goal. A $500 team goal, for example, can help provide approximately 25 children with new jackets.
💙Invite Friends & Family: Share the UCF Jackets for Kids initiative with your personal and professional networks and encourage others to join your efforts.
💙Spread the Word: Share the campaign through socials, civic groups, or other community networks.
Through UCF's Jackets for Kids initiative, we believe children should not have to worry about the cold. They deserve to have this basic need met so they can focus on their studies, academic growth, and simply being children. Join us!
