Rae Lee and Kassi had a blast yesterday enjoying “Hug Your Cat Day!” Looks like Squeaky did too! ♥️

They give and get hugs EVERY day but we all celebrated the special day! We got so busy in the shelter, we failed to post, but hope you guys now will give an EXTRA hug for the “Day After Hug Your Cat Day!” 🤗

My girl got adopted today!!! I’m gonna miss this hot mess of a little girl so much, but she’s going to a wonderful home and to top it off they said I can come and visit if I want 😉

🚨 We need a long-term Foster and possibly a Forever placement; depending on if surrendering individual can establish themselves in another state to repair mental health and surround themselves with a support network.

Here are the details on this sweet fellow from his current caretaker.

Ravi is the definition of a Velcro kitty. ❤️

He’s the sweetest cat I know and follows me everywhere I go. If he wants attention, he’ll gently paw at me until I stop what I’m doing and give him pets. The funny thing is, Ravi never sits still while being loved on—he insists on walking in circles the entire time!

He’s a bit picky about food. He turns his nose up at pâté and only wants the gravy from chunky food, so I mix his prescription food with Churu or Lil’ Soups to keep him happy and eating well.

But Ravi’s favorite thing in the world isn’t food—it’s kisses. He’ll headbutt my face over and over until I finally give in and give him forehead kisses. 🥰

TEARJERKER! Be prepared…

Four years ago, (Ra)Mona came to us on a fluke.

A kill shelter down South had contacted us about taking 20 cats. Ramona’s picture was the last one they sent, followed by an apology — they said we wouldn’t want her, and that she was already scheduled to be put down.

Miss Becki saw her photo and immediately said, “I want her.”

When Ramona arrived, she could barely eat on her own, barely walk, and couldn’t control her bowels. We assume she’d been hit at some point.

Over time, she grew stronger — and she became one of the cats who reminded us why we do this.

Recently, she made a best friend: Twix. Twix is extremely shy, but somehow Ramona became her “person.” The two have become inseparable.

A family came along and fell in love with Ramona. They visited almost every day and CRIED when they left. After a month and a half of getting to know them and making sure it was right, we knew this was her chance at a real home. Maybe her only chance. The mother is a nurse and therefore familiar with “messy and messes.” That’s what it takes with ‘Mona, Money money, Monaroo, SWEET SWEET RAMONA.

THEN came the clincher: they wanted to adopt Twix, too. ❤️

Today has been full of tears — bittersweet ones — but more joy than anything. Ramona and Twix are going home together, to a local family who understands their personalities, special needs and loves them both exactly as they are.

Thank you, Ramona, for reminding us that rescue is bigger than us. We will miss you terribly, but we are so grateful you finally get the family you always deserved.
