I shared a visual lesson on the wounds of not forgiving this week in Bible study. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t forgiven yourself or others; there is still a wound.

If we don’t deal with the wounds then it leaves a scar. Then we mask the scar and tried to hide it with a “bandaid”. Eventually these scars seep because they become infected. This might be in the form of outbursts of anger or our health might suffer or there may be a number of actions. These actions can become our character.

We have to open the wound, clean it out and put medicine on it. Cleaning it and tending to it happens through prayer and God’s Word. (And maybe a godly mentor or therapist) Only then can we truly forgive. God’s Word is a soothing balm.

Otherwise we deal with the wounds with vices—anything that we use to cover the hurt. It could be having control issues, an eating disorder, drugs or alcohol (or all the above). We all find something to mask our pain if we aren’t dealing with it by taking it to the Lord.

May we all be diligent to deal with our wounds with the help of Jesus and God’s Word.

“Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.” Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭32‬

“Bless the Lord, my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, my soul, And do not forget any of His benefits; Who pardons all your guilt, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with favor and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.” Psalm‬ ‭103‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭

When I mention 2025 I think of so many blessings. But I think of so many losses as well. Loss led to the feeling of being stuck and when I could finally post about my losses I felt I could begin the process of getting “unstuck”. So this has been the week to do that.

Although Steve posted about his mother and it was shared on my personal page after her passing; I have struggled to make a post. I knew I would at the right time so this is the time.

Today would have been Lynne’s 89th birthday. Instead she is in heaven with her Savior, having her 1st heavenly birthday. Love who she was and how the Lord blessed Steve and me with such a godly mother and mother in law. In honor of her I say, “HAPPY HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY LYNNE”! And I post my words from her memorial service that the Lord placed on my heart to honor her. I pray her life inspires you! ❤️✝️
