Get informed about the race for Hennepin County Attorney.

There are five candidates running in the non-partisan race for Hennepin County Attorney. Out of the August 11 primary, two will advance to the General Election in November. LWV Golden Valley held a candidate forum on June 25. See the link in the comments for the replay.

It's a great day to vote early at Edina City Hall.

Voting hours at City of Edina, MN (Local Government) for this week are as follows:
- Monday through Friday | 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Aug. 8 | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Monday, Aug. 10 | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There are four candidates running in the August 11 Democratic primary for the Minnesota State Senate District 50 seat (the endorsed Republican candidate is running unopposed.)

Minnesota League of Women Voters Edina Stands Up: From George Floyd to ICE

At this summer’s national convention of the League of Women Voters in Columbus, OH, Colleen Feige, LWVE president and first vice-president LWVMN, and Ellen Kennedy, LWVE board member and co-chair of the Racial and Gender Justice Action Committee, presented Minnesota League of Women Voters Edina Stands Up: From George Floyd to ICE. They highlighted steps that small cities can take when faced with human rights crises and challenges to vulnerable members of the community, from ‘neighboring’ to justice.

Join them to hear about Edina’s actions and an update on the issues at two public talks:

Thursday, Aug. 13
Noon at the Edina Public Library

Wednesday, Aug. 26
4:30 to 6:30 at the Edina Senior Center

Both events are free and open to the public; no reservations are needed.

On Saturday, Aug. 8 join the Leagues and partners across the country for a nationwide day of civic action in honor of the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

There will be hundreds of activations across the country centered on increasing voter engagement, turnout, and education, with particular emphasis on young voters and community partnerships.

In Edina, join us for a Get Out the Vote bridge event as we bring awareness to encourage neighbors to vote on August 11 for the primary and on November 3 for the general election.
