Wreaths Across America – Knox County Hosts Successful Memorial Day Fish Fry Fundraiser
Wreaths Across America – Knox County recently hosted its Second Annual Memorial Day Fish Fry Fundraiser at the 4-H Pavilion in Edina. Members of the WAA-KC committee and area volunteers served fish, fried potatoes, coleslaw, desserts, and drinks to raise funds for wreath purchases for the 2026 ceremony.
The fundraiser received overwhelming community support, allowing the committee to purchase more than 80 additional wreaths that will be placed on veterans’ graves following the December ceremony.
“We are incredibly thankful for the generosity shown by our community,” said Crystal Murr, Wreaths Across America – Knox County Co-Chair. “This fundraiser plays an important role in helping us honor more veterans each year. Thanks to the support of donors, volunteers, and local organizations, we are continuing to expand our efforts across Knox County.”
Currently, many veteran graves throughout Knox County remain without wreath coverage due to limited family support or lack of funding. The long-term goal of Wreaths Across America – Knox County is to place a wreath on every veteran’s grave in the county within the next five years by increasing fundraising efforts and community awareness.
The committee also expressed appreciation to members of local organizations and community volunteers who donated desserts, time, and resources to make the event successful.
The 2026 Wreaths Across America ceremony will be held December 19, 2026.
