Come on Rockingham county who can give this sweet scared girl a home???

ADOPTED 🎉🎉

Every day, SOMA hides her face under a blanket and waits for the shelter day to be over 💔

😔 This long, lean, 11 month old girl is TERRIFIED in the shelter. When visitors walk by, she retreats to the back of her kennel and buries her head beneath her blanket, hoping the scary world will pass her by. 😭

BUT…if you slow down and spend a little time with her, a different Soma appears.

Volunteer Carla shares, “After spending some time with her, I find she is so ready to play. She is very curious and loves to explore.”

She just needs someone to help her find her courage.

💔💔💔 Soma HAD a family as an indoor only cat (she lived with a dog companion) and she was surrendered due to moving. She doesn’t know what “moving” means, she only knows the people she loved are gone, and every night she falls asleep in a kennel instead of the home she thought would be hers forever.

Update on the orange kitty. They could really use donations as his care is likely going to be very expensive. If you can help their donation options are in their post below. 💕

🐾 **OPERATION: RESCUE ORANGE JULIUS UPDATE** 🐾

Friends of Eden Animal Rescue successfully got Orange Julius (OJ) safely crated late yesterday afternoon and transported him to the amazing veterinary team at Eden Veterinary Hospital.

After a thorough examination and blood work, we learned that OJ's hematocrit (red blood cell count) is very low due to severe anemia. The veterinarian believes the anemia is most likely the result of an overwhelming flea infestation. While his numbers are not yet in the critical range requiring an immediate blood transfusion, they are getting close.

For now, OJ is receiving intensive care, including flea treatment, IV fluids, IV antibiotics, and oral antibiotics. He will remain hospitalized at Eden Veterinary Hospital for at least the next several days so the staff can closely monitor him, ensure he is eating, and watch his blood counts.

The good news is that OJ tested negative for FIV, feline leukemia, and other major diseases. A few other blood work values were slightly abnormal, but the veterinarian explained that those changes are expected when a cat is severely anemic. The team will continue monitoring his blood counts closely. If his red blood cell count does not improve—or if it continues to decline—a blood transfusion may become necessary.

Dr. is cautiously optimistic. She believes that by treating the flea infestation, addressing his infections, and providing supportive care, OJ has a good chance of recovering.

We also learned the cause of his head tilt. OJ is suffering from a severe ear infection deep within the ear canal. The antibiotics should clear the infection, and as it resolves, the veterinarian expects his head tilt to improve as well.

Orange Julius still has a long road ahead, but he is finally safe, warm, and receiving the medical care he desperately needed.

This kitten was found by some nice people in Reidsville NC but they aren’t in a position to keep him. He’s just a little guy and looks extremely healthy. He likes their dog so would be adaptable to whatever pets you might have. He could use a great place to land. He’s a cute little orange guy. Pictures are posted below. Message me if you’re interested and I will give you their contact information. Please share with anyone you think might be interested in a cute ginger kitten.

EDIT: Help has been found!!

Bottle feeder urgently needed in Eden NC. I was just contacted by a lady who found 2 2-3 week old kittens whose mom was hit by a car. She does not have the resources to properly care for them. Can anyone take them in? I will put you in contact with her.
