Help speak for the trees! Sign the petition to save our county forest.🌳🌲

The Seven Mile Landfill, located at Olson Drive, Eau Claire, is owned by Green for Life (GFL) and serves Eau Claire County. Recently, GFL has approached the county to open discussions about purchasing an additional 120 acres of Eau Claire County Forest.

The landfill serves EC County but also takes waste from neighboring states and other counties in Wisconsin. Even if Eau Claire reduced their waste, the landfill would expand by taking more trash from other areas.

Environmental Task Force Volunteers and members of the community are speaking at the EC County Parks and Forest Committee meeting. Please join us in helping protect our county forest by signing the petition against the landfill expansion.

Thank you to those that attended our kickoff event yesterday! We covered how Plastic-Free Eau Claire got started and where it is going from here! Our organization has collaborated with several groups to promote waste reduction in our city (ex: EC Marathon, Fall Fest, Eau Claire Earth Fest). If single-use plastic reduction peaks your interest, get involved! We are looking for passionate driven individuals that want to implement change. Come to our planning meeting on Thursday, June 11th 5pm at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library. Change happens when we make it happen!

Join us for the official launch of Plastic-Free Eau Claire! Learn about what this volunteer-based environmental group is doing in the community. Take the PF-EC pledge, and learn about the PF-EC restaurant campaign.

Celebrate Earth Day at Eau Claire Earth Fest with us! 🌎🎉

This FREE event is geared towards all ages. | No registration required to attend. Some Workshops have limited space and do require pre-registration.

During this event, community members can visit booths from sustainable businesses and community organizations serving the Chippewa Valley. Vendors will cover a variety of topics, including energy, biodiversity, recycling, transportation, and much more!

The Plastic-Free EC volunteers were busy this weekend helping Fall Fest attendees sort their waste into trash, recycling, and compost bins.🗑️♻️🍌 This was the first Fall Fest where compost bins were available and it was great to see our community showing up for the environment!🌎 We’re so grateful to Eau Claire County Recycling & Sustainability, and the .task.force for making this possible!
