The Tower Ridge Disc Golf Courses are among the premier disc golf destinations in the Chippewa Valley. Tower One was established in 1996 after an all-star team, including Larry Adler, Dave Bohlinger, Jeff Nelson, and Toms Fields, successfully raised funds for its creation. Following the installation of the course, the Chippewa Valley Disc Golf Organization was formed. This organization quickly attracted new members, including Troy Campbell, Don Ticknor, Jeff Stumm, and Josh Delaney. Twelve years later, CVDGO determined that 18 holes were insufficient, leading to the creation of Tower Two in 2008. Multiple tee boxes and basket locations have been installed on all the holes. The skiers have provided us with wider fairways, while I have created tighter openings through the woods for you to aim for. We have hung baskets from cables in trees and set up raised baskets in stumps. You might be wondering what could be next this year. Well, if I were to tell you, it would spoil the surprises coming in 2025! The Tower Ridge Open is an annual event on the Wisconsin Disc Golf Tour, known for its strong history of past winners. In 2001, two-time World Champion Barry Schultz claimed victory, beating Terry “The Disc Golf Guy” Miller by 8 strokes, and he won again in 2003. Minnesota native Cale Leiviski took the title in 2006 after a playoff with Steve Held and returned to win again in 2007 and 2009. A notable third-place finish was achieved by Jay “Yeti” Reading in 2012. In 2014, Tom “Mountain Man” Wincse, recognized for saving Highbridge Hills, won the Advanced Grandmasters division. Adam Hammes would win in 2017 and 2018 before becoming a touring pro the following year and securing a sponsorship from Discraft.
