✨🌷 May at MHC! 🌷✨
May is Better Speech and Hearing Month so our founder, the reigning Ms. USA Prime 3, Azsa Harris, made sure to spread awareness about how to promote better speech and language skills as her role as a speech pathologist in the school setting! 📚✏️
MHC also celebrated National Speech Pathologists Day on May 18th with our favorite queen and SLP! 💬💕✨
Our founder planned lots of fun speech activities to celebrate the occasion:
💬 A mouth model was used as a fun way to teach oral anatomy and placement for accurate speech sounds!
💬 The number of dots on the giant dominoes were linked to parts of a story. As game play went on, a story builds that the speech students can read at the end of the game. This helps with narrative and story telling skills.
💬 One of the most popular among speech students is Bananagrams but in speech class, it is affectionately called “Speech Bananas” 🍌Students were given a tile with a letter on it, they provided a word that starts with that letter, then made a sentence with that word. This is a great way to build grammar and sentence formulation skills.
💬 With the jumbo tumbler cup, speech students got to make pretend smoothies with ingredients that are not as common or ordinary to build vocabulary skills!
