We did it! You helped us raise $9,000 in our very first GiveOrcas campaign.

We kept you updated on the real numbers throughout this whole thing, the good days and the slower ones, and in the final hours last night this community showed up and carried us over the line.
Thank you. Genuinely. Recovery in Community is not just a name and you proved it.

Today is the last day of GiveOrcas. The campaign closes at midnight.

We are at $4,225 out of $10,000. We have come so far in ten days and we are not done yet.

If you have been meaning to give, today is the day. If you cannot give, please share this with someone who might. A ferry schedule should not be the thing that stands between someone and treatment.

"First off, thank you for your donations. We have already crossed $1,000 in our first two days and we are 1/10th of the way to our goal.

When I started working with Recovery in Community in the fall of 2024, my position was a 5 to 7 hour part time role coordinating our Recovery Rides program. Since then, I have been given incredible opportunities to help the organization grow and to grow professionally alongside it.

Our organization is just one small part of the recovery ecosystem in San Juan County, and every day I am inspired by the people I have been lucky to meet and collaborate with. I want to highlight all the incredible people working at the resource centers, Compass Health, San Juan County Health and Community Services, and on RIC's board. My job often starts when I get a call from a community partner working with a client who has made the life-changing decision to go to inpatient treatment. I then work closely with the client as part of their care team to match them with a RIC volunteer, and keep in contact with them, often months after they have left treatment. While challenging at times, the work is incredibly fulfilling and I have been blown away by how much our community cares for our people, no matter the circumstances.

Addiction touches every community and every family in ways that do not always get talked about openly. San Juan County is no different. If this work has meant something to you, or to someone you love, I am asking you to give what you can. If you cannot give right now, sharing our campaign with someone who might is just as valuable.

Thank you for being part of our community."

Harm reduction means meeting people where they are. No judgment. No preconditions. Just support.

Tonight we are at the GiveOrcas Kick-Off at Orcas Center handing out free naloxone kits. If you are on Orcas, come find us.

If you are not, share this with someone who is.

Naloxone saves lives. Having it in your community matters.

Recovery in Community is a San Juan County nonprofit supporting people through mental health and substance use challenges. We show up for people in crisis, in recovery, and everyone in between, especially those who've had trouble accessing care through traditional systems.

Recovery doesn't just affect the individual. It affects families, neighbors, and the whole community. That's why we're here.
