🇭🇷 Good luck to our AZJT dancers at the Croatian Folklore Summer School! 🇭🇷

Today marks the beginning of the Croatian Folklore Summer School, organized by the Croatian Heritage Foundation, which this year brings together 113 participants from four continents. Through singing, dancing, tamburitza, and traditional instruments, participants will learn, build new friendships, and gain a deeper appreciation for Croatia’s rich cultural heritage.

We are especially proud that 5 of the 7 participants from the United States are from our very own group! ❤️🇺🇸🇭🇷

To our dear participants, we wish you an unforgettable experience filled with laughter, new friendships, knowledge, and memories that will last a lifetime. Soak up every piece of advice, learn something new, and proudly represent our community.

And, of course… never forget the most important thing—pamet u glavu! 😉

Četiri kontinenta na Ljetnoj školi hrvatskog folklora

Danas 4.8.2026. započela se održavati Ljetna škola Hrvatskog folklora u organizaciji Hrvatske matice iseljenika. Sudjeluje 113 polaznika i to: Hrvatska – 51, Austrija – 14,Argentina – 6,Australija – 3, Bosna i Hercegovina – 3, Čile – 4, Kanada – 3, Mađarska – 4, Njemačka – 14, SAD – 7, Srbija – 2, Švedska – 1, Urugvaj – 1. Pleše 83 plesača, tambura 24 tamburaša i 6 tradicionalista. Mladost, radost, veselje, ples, glazba gdje toga još ima ili kako bi rekli naši domaćini, tko to može platiti.
Voditelj Ljetne škole folklora je dipl. etnolog i polonist Andrija Ivančan. Voditelj tamburaškog programa je Tibor Bün, gost predavač Siniša Leopold, dok je voditelj programa tradicijskih glazbala Vjekoslav Martinić.
Polaznicima i voditeljima želimo uspješan rad i nezaboravan provod.

This past weekend, Cleveland had the honor of hosting the annual Croatian Fraternal Union Tamburitzans Festival, and we were incredibly proud to have our American Zagreb Junior Tamburitzans (AZJT) represent our community alongside so many outstanding folklore groups from across North America.

What makes this festival so special isn’t just the performances—it’s the way it brings our Croatian community together. It’s a weekend filled with music, dance, friendships, and a shared commitment to preserving our heritage. Watching these talented young performers take the stage is inspiring because they are more than today’s dancers and musicians. Many of them will become tomorrow’s music directors, choreographers, instructors, and leaders who will carry our traditions forward for generations to come.

To our amazing AZJT children—thank you for the countless hours of rehearsals, your dedication, and the heart you poured into every performance throughout the year. You made us incredibly proud.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our phenomenal instructors, whose passion, patience, and commitment prepared our children to shine on stage. Your countless hours behind the scenes make moments like these possible.

We are grateful to everyone who helped make this weekend such a memorable celebration of Croatian culture. Congratulations to every performing group—you were all exceptional.

🏐☀️ What a day! ☀️🏐

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support our 2nd Annual AZJT Sand Volleyball Tournament & Fundraiser!

Whether you played, volunteered, donated, bought raffle tickets, cheered from the sidelines, or simply stopped by to enjoy the day, your support helped make this event another incredible success.

Congratulations to Team “Old But Fun” for taking home the championship title and becoming our 2026 tournament winners! 🏆👏

A special congratulations also goes to Pajo Turić, the lucky winner of our Wheelbarrow of Cheer raffle! 🍻🎉 Thank you to everyone who participated in the raffle and helped support AZJT.

There was plenty of volleyball, lots of laughs, great company, and memories made all day long. The only thing more plentiful than the fun may have been the sunburns! 😎☀️🔥

Thank you for helping us continue the traditions, friendships, and opportunities that make AZJT so special. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
