Hey everyone! 💕

It’s officially been 12 weeks since our sweet little miracle arrived in our arms, and we’ve been soaking up every second of baby snuggles and love. 🥹💗 While we continue enjoying our maternity leave, I just HAD to pop in and share a pretty amazing update!

LOOK WHO STOPPED BY FOR A VISIT YESTERDAY! 🥹🐾

CHARLOTTE! 🩷

This girl is an absolute TANK, in every wonderful way possible! 🤣

Charlotte has apparently mastered the art of breaking into the snack cabinet, but being the polite lady she is, she only helps herself to ONE treat. 🤣 She’s also discovered what delicious home cooked meals taste like thanks to her mom (and let me tell you, her mom makes some seriously delicious food and desserts 🤤). And apparently, Charlotte has decided that playing all day, EVERY day, is exactly how she wants to spend her life!

This girl looks PHENOMENAL. 🥹🔥

I got the BIGGEST hug from her, and she was so excited to show off just how beautiful she looks! Of course, no Charlotte visit would be complete without a little slobber. And by a little, I mean drool being launched across the room like a rocket. 🤣💦

One of my favorite moments was watching her meet our littlest squish. 🥹 She was so fascinated by the baby, and watching this big, beautiful girl gently give those tiny baby toes kisses absolutely melted my heart.

Seeing Charlotte yesterday was such a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. Knowing where this girl started and seeing the life she gets to live today is something I’ll never take for granted.

She is loved. She is spoiled. She is happy. And most importantly, she is living the life she always deserved.

Charlotte truly has the most wonderful mom, and I cannot thank her enough for loving this big girl the way she deserves to be loved. Thank you for giving her a life filled with happiness, delicious meals, endless playtime, and apparently unlimited access to the snack cabinet. 🤣💀

🐾 MEET OZZY! 🐾

Looking to add a little chaos, a lot of personality, and even more love to your family? Ozzy might be your guy!

Ozzy is an approximately 9-month-old mixed breed who is full of life and ready to be part of someone’s family. This handsome boy is playful, goofy, smart as can be, and always looking for something fun to do.

Ozzy could definitely benefit from some basic obedience training, but he is eager to please and incredibly smart, so we think he’ll catch on quickly with someone willing to put in the time.

He’s young, he’s fun, he’s a little chaotic, and he’s ready to find the people who will love him for exactly who he is. ❤️

Emergency Foster needed!

Mom adopted from us earlier this year and has gone through things no one deserves to go through.

She is in need of a minimum 3 weeks with a foster who is home most of the day OR someone who understands a dog with separation anxiety.

She is waiting to move into her new home but in the meantime needs help with her very loved boy.

Chance Update 🩵

Our sweet boy Chance is absolutely thriving.

Every day he continues to learn what it truly means to be a dog. He’s discovering the joy of playing, exploring, and simply enjoying life. Watching him smile all day long has been one of the greatest gifts.

His best friend, Myra, has been right by his side, helping him build confidence and reminding him that life is meant to be fun. The two of them have become quite the duo, and seeing Chance finally get to experience happiness is something we’ll never take for granted.

I wanted to get a little update out before tomorrow since I won’t be filling my camera roll with this handsome boy for a few days while I’m welcoming our baby girl into the world. 🩷

Keep cheering Chance on. His journey has been incredible, and the best is still yet to come.

Please read our exciting update! 🤍

I’m not sure there’s really such a thing as maternity leave in rescue… but it’s finally time! 💕

Our little girl is scheduled to make her arrival this Saturday, July 18, and we couldn’t be more excited to finally meet her.

With that being said, I’ll be taking some time to focus on our daughter, my recovery, and soaking in these precious first moments together as a family.

Our amazing volunteers will do their very best to answer messages and assist anyone who needs help with their dog(s). We truly appreciate your patience as responses may take a little longer than usual.

As a reminder, we are currently closed for intake. I will make an announcement as soon as we are ready to begin accepting dogs again.

We also still have a few amazing dogs looking for their forever families! 🐾 I will be uploading their adoption links, and we would be so grateful if you could share them. You never know who might see one of our dogs and realize they’ve found their new best friend. Every share truly makes a difference. 🙏🩷

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your understanding, support, kindness, and love throughout this pregnancy. Balancing a rescue while growing our little miracle has certainly been one of the most rewarding and challenging journeys of my life, and I couldn’t have done it without this incredible community.

We’ll be taking a little time to bond as a family, and we can’t wait to introduce our sweet girl to all of you when the time is right. Thank you all for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers as we prepare to welcome her into the world. 🩷🐾👶

Now let’s talk about this “reactive” dog with “aggression toward other animals and certain people.” Clearly he’s a major threat to society… 🤪

Instead, he’s been spending his days running around, learning how to fly, and having the time of his life playing with two other dogs. He even met our cat, and guess what? He wasn’t phased in the slightest. No pulling. No whining. No drooling. No fixation. No signs of prey drive.

That definitely leaves us with some questions. Especially since the veterinary records state that the previous owner reported he was great with their cat.

We’re going to continue learning more about him every day, but so far, this sweet boy is showing us a completely different side than what everyone else labeled him as.

Hey NECCOG.. just a few questions for you.. Peso’s glow up is REAL

Peso is safe. But there are still questions that deserve answers.

When Peso was returned, he was publicly described as having “behavioral challenges,” having “shown aggression toward other animals and certain people,” and that “he would need placement with a rescue equipped to handle these issues.”

Those are significant statements. Labels like these can influence whether a dog is adopted, rescued, or euthanized.

Now that Peso is in our care, we’re getting to know the dog behind those words.

So we have questions.

What specific behaviors led to the conclusion that Peso had “behavioral challenges”?

What documented incidents led to the statement that he had “shown aggression toward other animals and certain people”?

Was there a formal behavioral evaluation? If so, who performed it?

Were there documented bite reports or injuries that support those statements?

Did Peso’s behavioral evaluation take place only hours after he was returned?

If so, how can a dog be expected to provide an accurate representation of their true temperament immediately after losing the only home he’d known?

A dog that has just been returned is experiencing one of the most stressful moments of its life. They’re confused, grieving, frightened, and overwhelmed. Some dogs completely shut down, while others become anxious or reactive because of the sudden change in environment. Stress can significantly influence behavior, which is why behavior assessments are generally more meaningful after a dog has had time to decompress and be observed over time, especially when the outcome of that evaluation could determine whether the dog lives or dies.

If Peso was reportedly being considered for euthanasia, what evidence supported that decision?

These questions aren’t about attacking anyone. They’re about transparency and accountability. When terms like “behavioral challenges” and “shown aggression toward other animals and certain people” are used, there should be clear documentation explaining how those conclusions were reached.

Peso is now safe in our care, and every day we’re learning more about who he really is outside the walls of a shelter. We know he cannot live with cats, and we are continuing to evaluate him with other dogs. What we’ve seen so far is a dog who absolutely loves people, rides wonderfully in the car, lives for tennis balls, enjoys checking out the chickens and our pig, and is finally getting the opportunity to decompress and simply be a dog. That’s exactly why we’re asking these questions. A dog deserves to be evaluated over time, not judged by one of the most stressful moments of their life. Every behavioral label should be supported by thorough, documented assessments because those labels can ultimately determine whether a dog gets a second chance or loses their life.

These three girls are ready for farm days, family adventures, cozy nights on the couch, and everything in between.

They’ve already been busy learning what it means to be great companions!

🐱 They’re cat friendly.
👧 They adore kids.
🐮 They’ve been introduced to life around farm animals.
