As DVAM 2017 comes to an end, it is my honor to reflect on the unprecedented impact we're continuing to make. I never imagined the girl with the bright smile and seemingly perfect life would be brutally victimized. Similarly, I never imagined that I would receive 2 Gubernatorial Appointments to the top DV and S*xual Violence Boards in the State, become a national domestic violence advocate, a NJ Hero, play an integral role in the development of the Shani Baraka Women's Resource Center, or (drum roll please) light City Hall Purple on National Purple Day while Raheem DeVaughn serenaded the crowd! Special thank you to Mayor Ras J. Baraka, the LoveLife Foundation, Raheem DeVaughn, the Special Victims Division of the NPD, the Shani Baraka Women's Resource Center, & everyone that contributed to this amazing event, & believed in this little brown girl from Newark. Can't wait to see what we do in 2018 😉☔️💜💁🏾👑
