Meet Tausha Moore! She is currently serving her first year as a board member for the MSHF foundation. In addition to her work as a contingent acute care SLP through Henry Ford Health,  she is an Assistance Professor-Clinical, SLP Clinic Director, and Externship Coordinator at Wayne State University.

Taushsa finds it rewarding to see her students love and commitment to the profession grow. She enjoys knowing that she is improving the quality of life of the clients and families she serves. 🌻

🎓 **2027 MSHF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!** 🎓

The **Michigan Speech Language Hearing Foundation (MSHF)** is pleased to announce that applications are now open for **two $1,000 scholarships** for graduate students pursuing careers in speech-language pathology and audiology! 💙

🏆 **MSHF $1,000 Scholarship**
🏆 **Lizbeth Stevens Memorial $1,000 Scholarship**

**Eligibility:**
🗣️ Speech-language pathology students in their **second year** of graduate study
👂 Audiology students in their **third or fourth year** of graduate study

These scholarships help support the next generation of speech-language pathologists and audiologists as they continue their education and prepare to serve individuals with communication and hearing needs.

📅 **Application Deadline: January 11, 2027**

An update from Shelby, "I earned my master's degree in speech-language pathology from Grand Valley State University in 2016. Since then, I've worked as a school-based SLP focusing on supporting students on the autism spectrum and those with cognitive impairments. I currently work within Kent ISD Center Programs helping students build self-advocacy skills and learn to use AAC devices to communicate more effectively."

Meet Katie Derkacz! Katie is currently serving her first term on the MSHF board and enjoys supporting the organization through their marketing committee. 📸

Katie enjoys supporting pediatric patients in the outpatient hospital setting. She feels inspired by the families she supports who are impacted by speech/language and feeding difficulties.🫧🧠🥣
