An update from Shelby, "I earned my master's degree in speech-language pathology from Grand Valley State University in 2016. Since then, I've worked as a school-based SLP focusing on supporting students on the autism spectrum and those with cognitive impairments. I currently work within Kent ISD Center Programs helping students build self-advocacy skills and learn to use AAC devices to communicate more effectively."

Meet Katie Derkacz! Katie is currently serving her first term on the MSHF board and enjoys supporting the organization through their marketing committee. 📸

Katie enjoys supporting pediatric patients in the outpatient hospital setting. She feels inspired by the families she supports who are impacted by speech/language and feeding difficulties.🫧🧠🥣
