Congratulations to the next Superintendent of Lexington School for the Deaf, Trisha Danah.

The Board of Trustees of Lexington School for the Deaf is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Trisha Danah as the new Superintendent of Lexington School for the Deaf. Ms. Danah comes to Lexington from her position as Coordinator, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs and Director of Early Learning Program for Delaware Statewide Programs for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind. She has held principal positions at the Sequoia Deaf School, Iowa School for the Deaf, and the Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind.
In announcing the appointment, Board Co-Presidents Dr. Kim Kurz and Suzanne Chen noted Ms. Danah’s extensive experience in K-12 Deaf education and her commitment to educational excellence. They thanked former board member and Lexington alumnus Seth Bravin, ’91, for serving as interim CEO/Superintendent.
The Board engaged the firm of Harris Rand Lusk to lead an extensive nationwide search for an educational leader who would build upon the school’s strengths. Harris Rand Lusk met with over one hundred Lexington stakeholders to identify their vision for the school’s next leader.
Ms. Danah holds a dual Bachelor of Arts in English and Theatre Arts from Gallaudet University; a Master of Science, K-12 Education, Track: Special Education and Deaf Education from McDaniel College; and a Master of Education, Educational Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University.
Ms. Danah will start in the position on July 1, 2026. The Board looks forward to this next chapter in Lexington’s history and welcomes her on behalf of the Lexington community.
