Will have some very nice warmer clothing at the Alta pantry tomorrow thanks to a very generous local donation!
Women’s sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets and long sleeve shirts. Many holiday ones! All different sizes! Stop by and grab something warm!

This weeks pantry in Alta will be on Tuesday at 3 pm due to holiday scheduling! Please spread the word. There will be some “mini Thanksgiving dinner in a bag” meals available provided by Pioneer Union Church. These will be one per family as quantities may be limited. Hope to see you Tuesday!

Wanted to thank everyone who has been so generous and thoughtful in donating for the holidays and needs of the community so far this year.

We still have need for more non-perishable food, NEW winter clothing, blankets/sleeping bags and toiletries. If you are able to help with any of these needs please pm me so I can make arrangements for pick up!

Good morning! Will be doing a damaged dog food bag free giveaway next week either Tuesday or Wednesday. The food is fine bags jist damaged during transport. There will also be a bit of cat food availabile as well

“Food” for thought

This holiday season, before you donate or buy a holiday meal bag from one of the large chain markets… consider this… the chains ask you to round up and donate to a food pantry or they sell you a bag and say the monies go to food pantries.

In reality, the money goes to corporate and does not stay local to you. The monies goes to corporate and they donate somewhere and then take the tax write off for “their” donation so they use tax payer dollars (with little to no oversight) to get a tax write off and our local pantries do not benefit in any way.

If you want your dollars to stay local and truly benefit your community, please consider donating directly to your local pantries and churches and help make a difference for your neighbors before you support the big box stores in getting their tax breaks!

Wanted to give a huge shoutout to everyone who has been so generous with their community donations of clothing and food at this time of year! It’s been a huge blessing and major help for our neighbors!

We are still in need going into this holiday season of non perishable food items and still in need of jackets,sleeping bags and warm blankets.

If you are able to help with any of these items, please contact/pm me and I will make arrangements for pick up! We can’t do any of this without our wonderful community! It truly takes a village.

Community Help Needed
With November 1st rapidly approaching and looking as though no government budget agreement in sight….local churches and pantries will need help from our communities to help our in need families even more heading into the holiday seasons. Having talked to Cal Fresh and 211… the state cannot step in as ebt cards are federally controlled so no local budget is set for that. There are also rumors of some larger food chains shutting down beginning the 1st as well with concerns of rioting and looting.

If your family is able, our local churches , Pioneer Union in Gold Run and Sierra First Baptist Church in Alta could use help with non perishable food items and any personal hygiene items your family may be able to spare!

You can contact either church directly or get ahold of me. We can also pick up!

If you would like to donate through Venmo or PayPal we can also do that, please pm me!
Any help, no matter how small could mean the difference between a family making it through these next two months or going under!
