School Readiness Tip:
Encourage independence.
While no one expects a preschooler to do everything on her own, age-appropriate independence is important. Real tasks allow children to learn to take care of themselves. They also give kiddos a sense of true accomplishment.
Ideas:
✅ cleaning up after themselves after meals
✅ choosing clothes for the day
✅ getting themselves dressed

While perfection isn’t necessary, working towards independence is the goal.🎯

It’s Back to School Time!
Where has the summer gone? With many schools about to begin in just a few weeks, we thought we would share some Back to Preschool Readiness Tips with you to help alleviate some of the challenge!!

Tip #1 - Two to four weeks before school starts, get the preschoolers used to getting up at a certain time every day and going to bed at a certain time. This will get their little bodies used to school day hours. It will also give everyone the chance to iron out any wrinkles before school starts.

Laughter and children!!!
Having a sense of humor helps kids develop self-esteem, problem-solving skills, and social skills. Since humor is a desirable personality trait, people with a good sense of humor tend to form friendships easily, which helps them feel better about themselves and boosts their self-esteem.
Laughter is the very beginning of a sense of humor!!
Have you laughed with your child today?

In honor of National Junk Food Day Today - we thought we would share some statistics on childhood obesity. Shed some light on the situation. Kids health and nutrition DOES matter!
✅ 67 % of the food consumed by American children is junk food.
✅ 16.2% of U.S. youth ages 10 to 17 have obesity.
✅ Schools play an important role in shaping lifelong healthy eating habits by offering nutritious meals through federal child nutrition programs.

Habits and patterns can change one meal at a time. Serving healthier meals at home can make a big difference in the well being of your child.

Be encouraged and have a great day!!

It’s National Gummi Worm Day, July 15,
The name ‘gummi’ is the German word for ‘rubber,’ so you can get a satisfying stretch out of the squiggly candy before you pop it in your mouth or just bite its head off!

If you want to know how to make a gummi worm dance, here’s what you do:

1. Parent step: Cut the gummy worms in half (lengthwise).
2. Fill a cup 3/4 full with water.
3. Add 2-3 spoonfuls of baking soda and stir.
4. Add worms and let them soak for at least 15 minutes.
5. Fill a transparent cup with vinegar.
6. Drop in the worms and watch what happens!
