It’s interesting how the story of Job is usually told.
Most people stop in the middle of the story.
They talk about the losses.
The suffering.
The questions.
The silence.
Job loses his wealth.
His health.
His children.
His sense of stability.
And that’s the part people remember.
But the story of Job was never meant to end there.
At the end of the book, after the testing, after the grief, after the long season of unanswered questions, Job’s faith remains. And because of that, the story shifts. His life is restored. His family grows again. His prosperity returns. The scripture says he lived a long life and saw generations of his children and grandchildren.
The part we often overlook is that the ending wasn’t about replacing what was lost.
It was about what faith produced through the storm.
Today at the Durant Lions Club meeting, John Adams shared a piece of his own journey and how it reminds him of that truth. His testimony was powerful not because life had been easy, but because faith had carried him through the hard parts.
We spend a lot of time talking about the valley.
But sometimes the greater story is what comes after the valley.
The rebuilding.
The growth.
The unexpected blessings that come after holding on when everything felt uncertain.
Thank you, John Adams, for the reminder today that faith is not only about enduring the storm… it’s also about trusting that the story isn’t finished yet. 🙏
