“I never needed a club or patch to ride my motorcycle."
I've heard it 1000 times. So let's set the record straight once and for all.
Neither do we.
We didn't prospect and earn our rags so we could ride. We didn't join club thinking "ok, now I can ride my iron. Now I'm official".
If that's what you think then you have no clue what this life is about.
We joined a club in search of brotherhood. Not a pass to ride. Anybody can ride a motorcycle, literally just about anybody. But not everybody can be a brother. Not everybody understands what its truly all about. Not everybody is meant for this life and all that it entails.
Its not convenient being a brother. There's plenty of times I know for a fact I personally have inconvenienced many of my bros many times.
There's been plenty of times we would rather enjoy our chill time at home than have to run out and tow a bike or help somebody move.
Its easier to ignore our inner demons than it is to sit down and open up to a brother who's only intention is to be there for you and listen. Not judge.
Its not easy to call a man out when he's doing wrong. To straight tell your brother "hey man, you're fu***ng up". Its easy to see a man lose his way. Its much harder to try and bring that man back.
But that what we do. Yeah, we party. We ride our motorcycles (sometimes too fast). We hang out and just chop it up. And we make some of the best memories together doing just that. But at the end of the day we don't have brothers just for the good times. True brothers shine when times are tough.
My bros have fed me, put a roof over my head, put gas in my tank and have brought me back from some of the deepest darkest places I've ever been. And no matter what I do, ill never be able to repay them. So I strive to be the best brother I can be for them.
We didn't join a club to ride our motorcycles. We joined a club in hopes of finding the loyalty, respect and brotherhood that comes with it. The patches are nothing more than fabric. The brotherhood is what makes them priceless.
Thankfully I found that with my club.
Did you?
