We are selling t shirts to help raise money for our foundation. We want to continue our community service in honor of my dad. We need money to do so.
We want to make “joy” bags.
Specially tailored for each projects specifc needs. For instance.

•Assisted living joy bags would contain items such as lotion, socks, candy, inspirational gifts or bibles , coffee cups , etc.
•homeless joy bags would contain items such as personal care/ hygeine items, fast food gift cards, blankets , socks, snacks etc.
•teenage/childrens joy bags would contain items such as smiley stickers, hygeine items, bibles , small toys, socks etc.

🩷We want ALL joy bags to contain a pamphlet with information about the papaw smiles foundation. We want to include information /address and phone numbers for local shelters/ community centers for those in need. As well as su***de prevention hotline and mental health services for our area !

My goal would be for every child in our county school district to have atleast the pamphlet! As well as shelters and community centers!

We cannot get pamphlets printed without the help of these t shirt orders.

Any donations are welcome. Any of the items mentioned would be greatly appreciated!

T shirts up to size xl are 30$
Xxl and up are 32$

Please comment if you would like to order. We can try to accommodate any color shirt you’d like.

On behalf of me and my family, We are very proud to announce that we will be giving out atleast one ambassador award per year (maybe more ) to people who exhibit the same / similar qualities my dad had, to honor his legacy and support our mission.
We do not take this lightly , this is meant to be a very prestigious award. !

If you would like to nominate someone please feel free to message us privately and tell us all about that special someone !

We are looking for individuals who have a humble and giving heart. Someone who has a wonderful positive outlook on life. Someone who gives freely. Someone who is selfless. Someone who is admired and respected among their peers and community.

We want to give back to our community and keep the smiles coming. Stay tuned for more updates!

Did you know there is actual SCIENCE behind a smile ? 😀 ☀️🩷🩷🩵

Here are several research-backed statistics and findings about how smiling affects people — both the smiler and those who see the smile.

☀️ Key Statistics & Findings on Smiles
Smiling makes people feel happier A meta-analysis of 138 studies with more than 11,000 participants found that smiling does lead people to feel happier (though effect size is modest).
-science daily

🩷Smiling helps with stress recovery . In a study where people were made to smile during stressful tasks, those people had lower heart rates and recovered from stress more quickly than those who maintained neutral facial expressions. Especially true for genuine (Duchenne) smiles.
-Association for Psychological Science

🩵Smiles are contagious and build connection.
Research shows that when one person smiles more (in a conversation), the other tends to smile more in response — especially in same-gender pairs. This reciprocity builds warmth, trust, connection.
-PubMed

😁Perceptions: trust, warmth, likeability People who smile are viewed as more likeable, more trustworthy, more memorable. From surveys, nearly everyone says seeing a smile brightens their day. For example, in a large U.S. survey: 96% said a smile brightens their day; 60% said a stranger’s smile does so.
-Dignity Health

🩵Mood & mental health In the same survey, 84% said smiling makes them feel less stressed. Over half felt smiling even while sick made them feel better.
-Dignity Health

☀️Facial feedback effect, The idea that “if you hold a smile, even if it’s forced, your emotional state shifts somewhat positive” has support. (The meta-analysis above is part of this.)
-ScienceDaily

🩷Context matters for how smiles are perceived.
A study found that the type of smile (e.g. polite vs. reward vs. affiliative) and the context (pleasant, polite, or negative situation) affect how genuine the smile seems, how much warmth is felt, etc.
-PubMed

🩵Smiling contributes to longer-term positive relational outcomes.
In conversations, the more the listener smiles, the more positively the speaker feels about the interaction. More smile reciprocity → better perceptions of the speaker/listener, more comfort, rapport.

And as always : Papaw smiles

09/18/2025

The Papaw Smiles Foundation was created in loving memory of Ella's Papaw, my dad, JT Spaulding. He always believed in the power of a smile. I rarely saw him without one. He also believed that to a large extent, we could CHOOSE how we felt, we could choose to let worries go, to he happy and content. I have similar core beliefs, however, i have also been on the other side of that. I have dealt with anxiety, depreession, ADHD, and grief! With that being said: Our mission is to inspire people of all ages to choose joy every day, share kindness freely, and live with optimism.
We believe that even the smallest smile can spark hope, brighten someone's day, and remind us all that happiness is a choice we can make daily. Through simple acts of kindness, encouraging words, and programs that uplift the community and each individual based on their needs, the Papaw Smiles Foundation works to spread joy while also promoting awareness of the importance of mental health and emotional well-being.
By celebrating Papaw's legacy of love and laughter, we encourage others to live each day with gratitude, hope, and a smile-because joy is contagious, and together we can make the world a brighter and better place!
We have lots of things planned for the future. And we hope papaw is smiling down at us for what we are doing 💛💙🩷
