🧹💙 TRASH CLEANUP SUCCESS! 💙🧹

What a morning! ☀️🌴

A HUGE thank you to our amazing Rotarian volunteers who showed up bright and early today to roll up their sleeves and give back to our Dunedin community!

Together, we picked up trash, shared some laughs, enjoyed the beautiful morning, and most importantly—made a difference right here in our own backyard. 🙌

This is what Service Above Self looks like! 💪💙💛

We are incredibly proud of the Rotary Club of Dunedin North and the amazing people who continue to show that when we come together, a little time and a lot of teamwork can create a BIG impact.

🌎 Clean community. Stronger together.
💙 People of Action.

🇺🇸 A Day of Honor, Remembrance & Gratitude in Dunedin 💜

Yesterday, we were honored to witness the National Purple Heart Ceremony at our very own Dunedin Purple Heart Park.

We were especially proud to see our amazing Rotarian, Vice Mayor, and Navy Submariner Rob Walker serve as today’s Master of Ceremonies.

The ceremony included the unveiling of the Gold Star Families Memorial Bench and the Battlefield Cross Statue — powerful and moving reminders of the incredible sacrifices made by our service members and their families.

Dunedin holds a special place in history as the first city in Florida designated as a Purple Heart City by the Military Order of the Purple Heart. 💜

Our community is truly blessed to have such a strong veteran presence, including so many veterans who proudly serve within our many Rotary Clubs throughout Dunedin.

Thank you to everyone who came out today to participate, honor, remember, and show our gratitude.

Today, and every day, we remember those who gave some — and those who gave all. 🇺🇸💜

Today, Rotary member & District Governor of 6950 Mark Middleton visited Olosho Oibor Primary & Junior School in Kajiado County, Kenya, where a new clean water project is transforming daily life for students and staff.

For years, the school’s rooftop water storage tank was left uncovered, allowing birds and bats to contaminate the water supply. As a result, many students regularly suffered from diarrhea and other waterborne illnesses, forcing them to miss valuable classroom time while seeking treatment at the local dispensary.

Thanks to Dunedin North Rotary Club’s partnership and the installation of a safer water system, students now have access to clean, protected water—helping improve health, increase school attendance, and create a better learning environment.

The school also serves a community where many girls face significant challenges. Nearby rescue centers provide safety, education, and hope for girls escaping child marriage and female ge***al mutilation (FGM), practices that are illegal in Kenya but still occur in some rural areas. A healthy, thriving school plays an important role in supporting these young people and their futures.

The gratitude expressed by the headmaster, teachers, students, and community members was deeply moving. Today’s project is a powerful reminder that Rotary’s work extends far beyond infrastructure…it creates healthier schools, stronger communities, and brighter futures.

Location: Olosho Oibor Primary & Junior School, Kajiado County, Kenya

Rotary creates lasting impact—one community, one school, and one child at a time.

💙💛 Service Above Self in Action 💙💛

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our very own Rotary Club of Dunedin North members and District Governor, Mark Middleton, on the completion of a mission that has been years in the making.

Through unwavering dedication, partnership, and perseverance, Mark has helped bring a solar-powered water purification system to a school in a small village in Kenya—providing something so many of us take for granted: clean, safe drinking water.

This project is far more than the installation of equipment. It represents healthier children, stronger communities, improved education, and hope for generations to come. Access to clean water changes lives, and today, countless students will have a brighter future because of this incredible effort.

Mark, thank you for embodying Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.” Your leadership, vision, and commitment remind us that one person truly can make a lasting impact on the world.

Please join us in congratulating Mark on this extraordinary achievement and the lives that will be forever changed because of it. 🌍💙

What Happens at Rotary Club of Dunedin North?

Our early mornings are filled with meaningful fellowship, community impact, and inspiring program speakers.

Kicking off the 2026–2027 Rotary year, our Program Chair, Rob Cozen, welcomed Father Bob Swick, Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 1963. Father Bob shared the rich history and enduring significance of the Purple Heart Award, reminding us of the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who have been wounded or killed in service to our nation.

As we prepare to recognize National Purple Heart Day on Friday, August 7, we invite our community to join us at the Purple Heart Park, 300 Main Street, in Dunedin for the annual Purple Heart Ceremony beginning at 10:00 AM.

It’s an opportunity to honor our Purple Heart recipients, remember their sacrifices, and show our gratitude to those who have served.

We hope you’ll join us as we continue Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self and celebrate those who have given so much for our freedom. 💜🇺🇸

Today, PDG Becky Bennett and her Trinity Rotary Club presented the Home Club Banner to DG Mark Middleton and president Tom Miller of Dunedin NORTH Rotary at our breakfast meeting. We are proud that Mark follows a long line of District Governors from our club: Woody Register, Keith Kurber and Mike Chapman. Becky began Mark’s journey as a Rotarian when she invited him to a meeting years ago. We are glad he found his way back to Rotary with our club.
