We’ve got a perfect fall recess on the calendar for October! We’re hitting Heritage Trail by Bike on Sunday October 11. It’ll be peak fall colors and a great morning with some kick ass women. Ride starts at 10 AM at the Twin Springs access point of Heritage Trail.

Last night, She Unites gathered for an important conversation about something that impacts individuals, families, and entire communities: substance use disorder, stigma, and recovery.

What do we really understand about addiction—and what might we have gotten wrong?

We’re so grateful to our incredible speakers for creating space for honest conversation, education, questions, and understanding. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, experiences, and perspectives and for reminding us that the words we use, the assumptions we make, and the way we show up can truly make a difference.

We talked about what stigma looks like, how it can create barriers to seeking help, and practical ways each of us can support people on their recovery journey, including using respectful, person-centered language.

These conversations matter. Education creates understanding, and understanding creates a more compassionate community.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make last night’s conversation so meaningful. And thank you to EJ’s W**e Shop for hosting us!

This is what She Unites is all about, creating opportunities to learn, connect, and grow together.
