As the new school year rapidly approaches, I would like to take a moment to share some information with those who may not be aware. After serving as Marshall's building substitute for two years, I have accepted a full-time teaching position as Marshall's new kindergarten teacher. This new role will undoubtedly bring additional demands on my already busy and full life. As some of you may know, I have three daughters who attend Marshall, and my husband works a second shift, which means it is just the girls and me throughout the week. Thus, it is often an understatement to say I am busy.

I joined the PTO five years ago and quickly assumed the role of president. Our small group has accomplished numerous remarkable things for the school and families. We have hosted various family fun nights, fundraisers for special projects, shown appreciation to our teachers, and celebrated our students with gifts and end-of-year parties. Notably, I have been the sole PTO member for the past few years. Despite the challenges, I have managed to prioritize the PTO because I strongly believe in its mission to strengthen the Marshall community. I am proud of our accomplishments, and I do not want to see the PTO come to an end. However, I must adjust my priorities, and unfortunately, I will not be able to devote as much time and effort to the PTO. Therefore, I am seeking significant assistance to ensure the continuation of our initiatives and events for our families and students. I am still willing to contribute as much as possible, so you will not be shouldering the responsibilities alone. The weather may have been cooler than we’ve been used to but that didn’t stop our students and their families from coming out and celebrating this school year. We had such a great turn out and we hope everyone had a great time. We had well over half our student body in attendance - your involvement in school activities means so much. Here are some pictures of the night along with some of the winners. Special thanks to Hy-Vee for grilling out for us, Delaney’s Ice Cream Shoppe for scooping ice cream all night, and Dan the DJ for keeping the party going.

We wanted to share that we received another very generous donation from another Marshall Family for free ice cream. With their donation we are now at 130 free ice creams for our students! We set the goal high this year and our families stepped up big time and helped us not only meet the goal but surpass it! Marshall Elementary is such a special school filled with amazing people and families. Thank you so much to everyone who donated - we really do not have the words to express how grateful we are!

‘Twas the weekend before “gift give-away” week, when all through the school not a teacher was stirring, just the great PTO. The gifts were laid out in the library with care in hopes that the students would know how much we cared.

We made it to our goal - 100 free ice creams will be going out to our students Tuesday night at our End of Year part!!! We received a very generous donation from a very special Marshall family today that gave us the boost. Thank you so much to not only that family but the several other people who have donated-you are going to be bringing lots of smiles to students!

There is still time to donate if you want to push us over the goal -we will gladly print more coupons 😀 The students are all so excited about this event and it’s all possible because of everyone who steps in and shows their support for our school! Thank you so very much!

One week until our big end of year party! This is a great event that brings our families together to celebrate all that our students accomplished this school year!

Update on our sweet walk and free scoops of ice cream:
-We have more than double our “sweets which means there will be 2-3 winners per round. Thank you to everyone who donated to surpass our initial goal.
- We are about halfway to our goal of gifting 100 students free ice cream. Special thanks to those who have donated already - you are gifting much more than ice cream. There is still time to donate to help us reach our goal- Cash or check made out to Marshall Elementary PTO can be sent or dropped off to school.
