Today CSEI had the opportunity to connect with local donors for a feedback session in the Brain Health Now collaborative space. We are so grateful for engaged community members who offer their time, insight, and honest feedback!

The conversation was both affirming and thought-provoking, not only confirming key aspects of our current direction, but also refining how we plan to move forward.

Moments like this remind us that meaningful progress happens through listening, learning from each other, and working together.

Thanks to the support of a recent grant, CSEI has been working on something special, a new promotional video that captures the heart of our mission and the impact of our work. This project gives CSEI the opportunity to tell our story in a visual way.

CSEI loves to educate and create opportunities for learning in our community! ✏️

Recently, our Homeless Program Coordinator, Christine Efferding, worked with a group of students from the University of Dubuque’s World View class studying a variety of social issues, including homelessness.

These conversations about our mutual focus on valuing every human with dignity and respect, the core of our mission, helps us build a more compassionate, informed, and supportive community for all. 💜

Today on International Women’s Day, we recognize the women in our community for their leadership, compassion, and commitment to helping individuals survive and exit homelessness. Working together we make our community stronger.

This year’s theme, , reminds us that that when we give our time, resources, and care, we create pathways to stability and dignity for others.

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone as Jennifer Walker, Special Programs Director, officially begins her retirement. 🎉

For 17 years at ECIA, including five years leading CSEI, Jennifer has had an impact on so much of our meaningful work. She brought her passion to fundraising projects and embraced the unique challenges and diversity of each one offered.

With a small but mighty CSEI team, there was never a shortage of work to be done but Jennifer led with a sense of humor in the face of doing tough work.

CSEI and ECIA congratulate Jennifer and thank her for all that she has accomplished during her tenure. Wishing her all the best in this exciting new chapter!

Sharon Gaul joined the CSEI Board in 2025. She has worked in various sectors of the housing market for the last 25 years advocating for affordable housing. CSEI is honored to have Sharon’s insight and passion, and we look forward to the impactful work we can do together. 💜

In a world that is increasingly digital, we are reminded that in-person connection still makes a powerful difference, especially for vulnerable individuals.

This is why CSEI continues to build on our services that meet individuals where they are already going in community spaces they know and trust. Our Homeless Program Coordinators are showing up consistently in both Delaware and Dubuque counties to provide immediate assistance, accurate information, meaningful referrals, and critical resources to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
