Sometimes life just seems super overwhelming...

💜💛5th Annual Elizabeth Ann Weidner Memorial Scholarships have begun to be dispersed.

52 applications this year from across Illinois, Texas and Florida. 4 have been chosen by the selection committee who knew her best.

💚💛Today a presentation to a young woman with a bright future as a nurse. She received $1,000 to put towards her college education. She is interested in cardiac care as her emphasis. A gifted distance athlete, who has raised money for childhood cancer for years put community service on the forefront of her pursuits.

Walking into Mattoon HS triggered a lot of feelings...the last time there we were supporting Elizabeth at IDTA Sectionals. This time we were there in her memory. Powerful feelings and tears that kept rolling!

How can it be the 5th year?!

Where would Elizabeth have been in her own education so many classmates are graduating...congrats to all during what remains bittersweet joyful moments!

💔GRIEF...darn you!

A simple but live saving gift...donating 🩸blood!

This picture and text has me falling part and proud all in an innocent moment in a parking lot in the middle of Illinois! I look up and a lady who pulled in is watching me as I frantically wipe tears. All I can do or think is how incredibly proud and mad (insert other words) I am.

Today Elizabeth's not so little brother participated in the gift of saving lives for the 1st time since he turned 16. He saw for years how this simple act kept his sister going by giving her and us the gift of time, improved quality of life and a chance that she might not have had otherwise.

Wherever you are...take time and search out HOPE for someone by donating! You will not regret and that individual will be extremely grateful...

📍This is an OPEN RESIDENCY scholarship for SENIORS.

Elizabeth was a phenomenal person who mentored and was inspired by many!

Pediatric oncology nursing was her goal in life potentially graduating this year from her school of choice. 💙💛

💜💛The book of face is a tricky thing sometimes the memories that pop up bring joy, pain, anger and a list of other emotions!

Emotions that sometimes could be "over sharing" for some or judged by others. Tonight it's a mixed basket.

10 years ago post season was in full swing for our oldest son...Elizabeth's protector. #1 in birth order, #1 in Jersey #, #1 in her oldest best friend and protector...

Tonight the youngest wears #1...the "T" Teutopolis stands for something much, much bigger TRADITION. He has struggled with his grief in a way that is little known but yet very profound...physical memories of his sister!

Tonight a little person whom never met our Queen had on this shirt from a basketball season lost in time to me as a mom.

Her/I missed every post season game of Ethan's due to the timing of her dx...except when she got out of her initial stay. In a decision whether right/wrong we booked it back home with her Uncle so I could catch a bus to surprise her #1. I didn't allow her to go...I made it right before Ttown took to the court (he didn't know I was coming)...they went onto WIN that year.

This year her #4 (the baby) she prayed so hard for (years) will wear that #1 Thursday night in the IESA State Finals...
unbeknownst to him she was there today🎗️💜💛.

Always missed forever loved...and may this jumble of words will not make sense but if it helps educate or support 1 person then maybe it was worth typing!
