Sometimes life just seems super overwhelming...
💜💛5th Annual Elizabeth Ann Weidner Memorial Scholarships have begun to be dispersed.
52 applications this year from across Illinois, Texas and Florida. 4 have been chosen by the selection committee who knew her best.
💚💛Today a presentation to a young woman with a bright future as a nurse. She received $1,000 to put towards her college education. She is interested in cardiac care as her emphasis. A gifted distance athlete, who has raised money for childhood cancer for years put community service on the forefront of her pursuits.
Walking into Mattoon HS triggered a lot of feelings...the last time there we were supporting Elizabeth at IDTA Sectionals. This time we were there in her memory. Powerful feelings and tears that kept rolling!
How can it be the 5th year?!
Where would Elizabeth have been in her own education so many classmates are graduating...congrats to all during what remains bittersweet joyful moments!
