We’ve been watching 👀 this daily, and today brought two signatures and one step closer to the Governor’s desk. 🖊️

House Bill 949 was officially signed today by the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House. Another important milestone forward for our profession and the patients we serve across Louisiana. ☢️

The LSRT is proud to announce that it has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 American Society of Radiologic Technologists Affiliate Award for Advocacy based on nominations submitted by Ally Puente, MSRS, R.T.(R)(CT)(ARRT) and Heather Cutrer Koepp, MA, R.T.(R)(ARRT), CHES.

The LSRT is incredibly grateful for this prestigious honor and looks forward to formally receiving the award in June at the 2026 Honors Evening at the ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

This marks the second time in five years that the LSRT has received this award. We work hard for our patients, our profession, and the technologists of Louisiana—and this recognition is proof of that commitment.

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists named Wendy Weaver, B.S., R.T.(R)(M), of Benson, North Carolina, as the winner of the 2026 ASRT individual Award for Advocacy and the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists as the affiliate Award for Advocacy winner.

Today, House Bill 949 was favorably passed by the Senate! 🎉

A special thank you to Senator Patrick McMath for carrying our bill through the Senate, and to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Representative Kim Landry Coates.
