700 residents. 1 clinician. That math is not mathing.

No one person can carry that. Which is why we work to make sure they don’t have to. Education, training, peer support, community counseling access: we’re building a valley where more people know how to show up for each other.

This summer, you can be part of that. The Tin Cup Challenge is open.

Pick 3 ways to Care, Connect, and Contribute.

How can recreation improve mental health in your community?

Did you know engaging in recreational activities, especially outdoors, significantly improves mental health by reducing stress, enhancing mood, and fostering social connection?

Recreational entities whether government or nonprofit go beyond simply providing opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Youth and adult sports, senior programs, community events, health fairs, playgrounds, access to green spaces are all part of the recreation experience all of which have been shown through participation to improve both physical and mental health.

It was a pleasure to meet with The Teton Valley Mental Health Coalition this morning to discuss way we can work together to encourage and educate all the benefits recreational activities can support mental health.

This is the work we care about most.

Not just talking about mental health, but making sure people actually have what they need when it shows up in real life.

Because most of us will be the first person someone reaches out to. Not a counselor. Not a hotline. A neighbor. A friend. Someone they trust.

That’s why Mental Health for All* means all people, all days, all places.

Who’s someone you’ve been meaning to check in on?

Emotional First Aid isn’t a hobby.

It’s a way we show up for our community.

Earlier this week, we brought our Emotional First Aid stand to with the help of

These kits might look simple, but they’re built with intention, grounded in what we know helps people regulate, pause, and get through hard moments.

Support doesn’t always have to be big or complicated to make a difference.

Sometimes it looks like a table, a conversation, and a reminder you don’t have to carry it all on your own.

If you want to see an Emotional First Aid stand in your workplace or organization, let us know!

Our hobbies can absolutely support mental health. It matters. It helps.

AND

It’s not the same as therapy.

When we say things like “this is my therapy,” it can subtly reinforce the idea that needing actual mental health support is something to avoid or feel ashamed of.

In a place like Teton Valley, where independence and self-reliance run deep, that message can make it even harder for people to reach out when they need care.

Our language matters more than we think.

No shame if you’ve said it before. Most of us have.

Let’s just keep widening the conversation about what real support can look like.

What do you think?

You don’t have to have the perfect words to help.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is listen, check in, or connect someone to support. 💛
