The Family Care Act (SB 906) is up for consideration in the Senate Industry and Labor committee today, June 10. Calling Senators Pittman and Ward, the senate leaders, once a week to ask them to support getting this bill to the Senate floor for a vote. PA workers have waited for this for such a long time, and we are getting closer. Thanks to the advocacy of Children First and The Fund for Women and Girls, and so many others groups!

📚 Listening to young people matters.

During community listening sessions here in Chester County, students shared that the lack of accessible menstrual products in school bathrooms often meant asking friends for help, using makeshift alternatives (like paper towels or toilet paper), or leaving class to visit the nurse's office missing significant amounts of class time, due to the time it takes to go from class to nurse's office.

Some even reported missing school altogether! No student should have to miss learning because they don't have access to basic necessities.

Paid Family and Medical Leave is up for a committee vote in the Pennsylvania Senate tomorrow, JUne 9!

On Wednesday, the Senate Labor and Industry Committee will consider The Family Care Act (SB 906), legislation that would create a statewide paid family and medical leave program in the Commonwealth. If the bill advances out of committee, it will move to the full Senate for consideration.

The Pennsylvania Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women is gathering input to better understand the real experiences, challenges, and priorities facing women today. Paid family leave, healthcare, reproductive rights....Let them know what you need! Survey closes May 30.

On May 14 at 10:00 AM, women and organizations across Pennsylvania will join a statewide social media push to help amplify the State of the Woman survey and encourage participation from voices across the Commonwealth.

The Pennsylvania Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women is gathering input to better understand the real experiences, challenges, and priorities facing women today.
