The American Street Cat, Inc.

The American Street Cat, Inc. Having no paid officers or volunteers, TASC is a grass roots organization that believes in transparency about who we are and what we do.

Think of us as blue collar folks working for blue collar cats. The American Street Cat is NOT a shelter. We are a small group of volunteers focused on doing Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and we foster in our own homes (with our own resident animals) only cats and kittens found during our TNR efforts. TASC does not handle public intakes. If you need to relinquish your pet or are concerned about stray cats in your area, please contact your local ASPCA or Humane Society, as well as your local veterinarian and animal rescue groups for advice and additional resources.

Friends of/adopters from TASC need to rehome a recent addition to their family after discovering that he truly is NOT okay sharing space with another cat.

Sammy’s original owners, who were hoarders, passed away, and the group that stepped in to help assumed that he’d be good with a feline companion. This has proven not to be the case. After several months of trying to keep the peace, the decision to rehome, though a tough one, is the right one.

The work week ended with getting this relative newcomer to the office colony. With 11 cats waiting to be fed, we went with the bottle method, which was thwarted by a biped. “Are you trying to catch a cat?” What trapper has never had this happen? 🤦‍♀️😂

We ended up getting him by hand. Sometimes, darting away is a game to these cats and not indicative of their disposition. Gunnar is a gentle and friendly fellow. Vet appointment to follow!

Low cost services for exam, neuter, vaccinations (rabies & FVRCP), and snap test will cost $170. If you’re inclined to help us offset costs, please donate at PayPal.me/TASCinc
