02/03/2026

We’re reaching out to thank you again for being part of Beyond Gravel—and to invite you back for this year’s ride. As always, our primary goal is to raise funds for Runway for Recovery, supporting families affected by breast cancer. This year’s donations will help fund families across the New Hampshire Seacoast and the greater Boston area. Let’s ride for them.

Please register: https://www.bikereg.com/beyond-gravel

and consider donating through our Runway for Recovery link: https://www.classy.org/give/699588/ #!/donation/checkout

This year’s event is organized through Seacoast Racing, and we’re excited to bring even more support and structure to make the day great.

New sponsors and rider support this year:

We’re excited to add a few sponsors focused on making the day more fun and more successful for every rider:

New England Nutrition and Exercise will be hosting a rider webinar on 4/26/26 covering route overviews, tactics, and practical fueling strategies for each option so you can finish strong or beat your PR

Treeline Outfitters is partnering with us to help organize group-focused rides on course. You’ll be able to sign up to ride with one of their groups for a no-drop, and fun experience no matter which route you choose. More info to follow but check out this awesome group out of Portsmouth, NH here https://treelineoutfittersco.com/
Routes: less technical, a bit more mileage

Compared to previous years, routes will be overall less technical, but expect a bit more mileage across most options. The one exception is the Dirty Dovah Dog—as always, anything is possible there.

We’ll share final route details and day-of logistics soon. In the meantime, please register for the ride. Treeline groups and the webinar details above.

Post-ride:

Following the rider we will meet at a local brewery to grab food and celebrate all we accomplished. Stay tuned!

Thanks again for being part of what makes this event special. We hope you’ll join us again this year to ride, connect, and support families who truly need it.

See you out there,

T.J.

Hi Riders!

The Garrison Gravel Ride (30 mile gravel/trail route) will receive a route adjustment following the inclement weather we have had the last few days to bypass unrideable spots. There are a few large trees down and deep standing water. Please download the new GPS file from the bottom of this email.

All other routes will remain unaltered. I have created ride with gps routes for those of you that don't have cycling computer. You can also access the routes in the links below.

All off road routes will be extremely wet, with standing water in several places. Expect to get wet. I test rode the 30 mile route yesterday and completed in 2:07. I was soaked. But that is part of the fun.

For race day:

Dress in layers. Temps will be mild (50-60s) and conditions wet. Make sure you can stay warm.
Have a change of warm clothes following the ride. Especially socks and shoes.
Prepare enough nutrition for 2-4 hours for the Garrison Gravel Grind and 5+ hours for the Dirty Dovah Dog.
Arrive 1 hour before start time to check in.
Start times:

7 am: Dirty Dovah Dog

9 am: Garrison Gravel Grind

9:05 am: Dover Dash

9:10 am: Dover Delite

Routes:

Dirty Dovah Dog: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/50905784

Beyond Gravel is a charity gravel ride dedicated to raising $1,000 to support two incredible organizations: METAvivor and Runway for Recovery. These nonprofits provide essential support to families impacted by metastatic breast cancer (MBC) and fund research for MBC.

How You Can Help:
As this is a fundraiser, the entry fee is kept low to cover only essential costs, bathrooms, and post-ride celebrations. Instead, I ask participants to make a donation of any amount they see fit using the Beyond Gravel donations links on BikeReg (https://www.bikereg.com/beyond-gravel). 100% of the proceeds will be donated to METAvivor or Runway for Recovery. While the recommended donation is $100, every contribution—big or small—makes a difference in supporting families and advancing critical research. You can find route information in the sections below.

Metastatic breast cancer is a stage of breast cancer that has spread beyond the breast to other parts of the body. Unlike early-stage breast cancer, MBC remains incurable, and those living with it face unique challenges, including limited treatment options and reduced funding for research. Organizations like METAvivor are critical in this space, as they are the only nonprofit funding peer-reviewed research specifically for metastatic breast cancer.

This ride is personal. My sister, Katie, passed away on December 13, 2024, at the age of 39 after being diagnosed with MBC in 2019. Katie was a devoted mother, cherished partner, loving teacher, artist, and adventurer. Her greatest joy in life was being a mom to her two sons, sharing in their passions and adventures. During Katie’s five-year battle with cancer, nonprofits like Runway for Recovery provided vital support—not just for Katie, but for her family. They offered meals, after-school activities, summer camps, and childcare, helping her boys make meaningful memories with her and allowing them to continue being kids during an incredibly challenging time.

Despite its widespread impact, MBC remains underfunded and not well-known. This ride aims to change that by raising funds for research that can prolong lives and eventually find a cure and for organizations that offer families the care and resources they need.

Join us in honoring Katie’s memory and supporting those navigating MBC. Together, we can pedal toward hope and change.
