Elmore Disaster Relief Update: Supporting Flood Victims in Kentucky

This past weekend, two of our dedicated volunteers traveled to Kentucky to deliver donations from our incredible community. These supplies went directly to flood victims struggling to recover, and the impact was immediate.

Local outreach workers shared with us that many homes affected by the flooding are now facing serious mold issues. They were especially grateful for the bleach, fans, and heaters that were donated—items that will make a real difference in helping families fight mold and create safer living conditions.

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort. Your donations—big and small—are truly changing lives. These trips are only possible because of your generosity and support.

Families in Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia are facing devastating losses from recent flooding, and they need our help. Elmore Disaster Relief is collecting essential supplies to deliver to the ARH Foundation the weekend of March 15, and we’re asking our community to come together and help.

🚨 Elmore Disaster Relief Update 🚨
We wanted to take a moment to update everyone on where we stand and what our next steps are. As many of you know, we are still in the process of finalizing our insurance. It’s been a bit of a back-and-forth with different providers, but we’re actively working on it. Our initial plan was to simply save what we had set aside to pay for insurance, but we’ve decided to shift gears and keep an eye on what’s happening in Kentucky.
That said, we are keeping a close eye on opportunities with Baptists on Mission and Samaritan’s Purse, two incredible organizations that are currently responding to disasters. Right now, they are actively working in places like Kentucky to assist with tornado and flood relief. Given that we don’t have our own insurance in place yet, deploying with these groups allows us to continue helping communities in need without taking on unnecessary risk.
While there are major disasters in California and beyond, our funding simply doesn’t allow us to travel that far at this time. We’re focusing on deployments within a reasonable distance, and Kentucky is a prime location we’re monitoring.
We’ve attached some updates from both Baptists on Mission and Samaritan’s Purse to show what’s currently happening on the ground. We will keep everyone posted if we move forward with a deployment, and we truly appreciate the continued support as we navigate these next steps.

Elmore Disaster Relief Update

Hello, everyone! It’s been a little while since we’ve shared an update, so I wanted to take a moment to fill you in on where we’re at.
We’re currently in the process of applying for insurance, which is a critical step in making sure our team and those we serve are protected. Right now, we’ve budgeted for the estimated amount we found online, but we’re actively working with a couple of insurance companies that specialize in nonprofit organizations to get accurate quotes.
This is just one of many steps in our journey, and your support has made all of it possible. We’re excited about the progress we’ve made and are committed to building a strong foundation for Elmore Disaster Relief.

We’re Ready to Serve the Illinois Valley – Thanks to You!

Your incredible generosity has made all the difference! Because of the support from our amazing community, Elmore Disaster Relief, Inc. is now better equipped to assist those impacted by disasters in the aftermath of storms, fires, and other emergencies here in the Illinois Valley.

Our team of skilled tradespeople and volunteers works tirelessly to ensure that homes are safe, secure, and ready for long-term rebuilding efforts.

Thank you, WLPO for getting the word out about EDR! 🥰🥰🥰

Dan Elmore wanted to do more when Hurricane Helene impacted sections of North Carolina near Asheville. So he and other colleagues loaded up vehicles with supplies and other materials, took
