🎃 Weekend Recap — Part 2! ⚓

Our cadets brought creativity, confidence, and teamwork to the field! During Operation Pumpkin Launch, they wrote their insecurities on pumpkins and sent them flying—letting go of self-doubt and cheering each other on. They also put their creativity to work building some truly squared-away scarecrows!

We were proud to see cadets take the next step in their leadership journey through the PO1 Boards, demonstrating their knowledge, preparation, and commitment to the battalion. Great work to everyone who participated and supported one another throughout the weekend!

Honor, Courage, Commitment. If Not Me, Then Who? 🇺🇸🎖️

🍬🎃 What an incredible weekend with the Travis Manion Battalion! 🇺🇸

Our cadets put their teamwork, discipline, and leadership to the test during Operation Candy Recovery, taking on a capture-the-flag-style field operation in teams of four. They also trained with Chief Ambrose, reviewed military etiquette, practiced Color Guard, completed PRT, and took on Operation Pumpkin Launch—a fun challenge that brought plenty of teamwork and excitement!

The weekend’s special highlight was our Chief pinning ceremony, where we proudly recognized Chief Alice Lai and Chief Brandon DeZuzio. Congratulations to both of you on this well-deserved achievement. Your hard work and dedication are an inspiration to the entire battalion.

Thank you to our staff, families, and cadets for making this such a memorable weekend. Honor, Courage, Commitment—and “If Not Me, Then Who?” ⚓🎖️

Today, our Battalion’s Color Guard was invited by the NYC Chapter of the Travis Manion Foundation as they paid tribute to Midshipman Kyle Devin Philbert James, celebrating his remarkable young life and many accomplishments at just 20 years old.

On the first anniversary of Kyle’s passing, we came together with his mother and family to honor his memory and ensure that this remarkable young Midshipman will never be forgotten.

Kyle’s life, legacy, and impact will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Gone too soon, but never forgotten. Thank you to MgSgt Escalante and the Travis Manion Foundation, NYC Chapter for inviting us to take part in such a special ceremony!

Every veteran deserves to be remembered. 🇺🇸

This December, Travis Manion Battalion Sea Cadets will join Wreaths Across America at Stanhope Union Cemetery. There are 1,200 veteran graves, and our goal is to place a wreath on every one.

Each wreath is a chance to pause, say a veteran’s name, and thank them for their service. We would be grateful for your help—whether you sponsor a wreath, volunteer on December 19, or share this post with someone who may want to take part.

Remember. Honor. Teach. ❤️🤍💙

Last night the Battalion took part in the Morris County 9/11 Memorial Ceremony and the Morris County Fire Fallen Firefighters Ceremony. It’s the Battalion’s 5th time taking part in both ceremonies and it is truly an honor. It is important for our cadets, none of whom were alive to experience the loss that day, to learn, understand and never forget what happened. Thank you to Vincent Vitale, Director of Communications for Morris County, for always including us in this special event.

Today, the Travis Manion Battalion pauses to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the innocent victims, the first responders who ran toward danger, the service members who answered the call in the years that followed, and every family forever changed by that day.

September 11 reminds us of the courage, sacrifice, service, and unity that emerged during one of our nation’s darkest moments. As Sea Cadets, we carry forward those values by choosing to serve, lead, and stand together.

May we always remember those who gave their lives, those who served, and those who continue to carry their memory forward.

🇺🇸 We will never forget.
