🚨🏃‍♀️‍➡️ACTION NEEDED FOR PETAL🏃‍♂️ 🚨Petals slowly unfurl to reveal a beautiful flower🌼That’s me! I can be quite shy at first and I need calm energy in my life, but with a little time I will be the brightest flower in your garden! I love when people sit with me, giving me soft pets and showing kindness.
😣But here’s the problem- The shelter is not calm, not quiet, not a place where I can bloom. To be honest, I’m not doing so well here. I’ve been told to “hang in there.” Until when? What does that mean? Who are they waiting for?

🐾🐾On this beautiful "Thank you Thursday" we are so thankful for our adopters and supporters! 🐾 🐾
Our list of accomplishments for the past week is pretty incredible and kept staff and volunteers on their toes. And an extra special Thank You to our volunteers who have given extra hours this week to make sure our dogs had extra walks, and clean bedding for their kennels and clean dishes for their food and water.
4️⃣ Animals were reclaimed from the shelter.
5️⃣ Dogs were adopted from the Allegan County Animal Shelter (and we have a bonus adoption picture of Hunter from last week).
2️⃣ Cats were adopted from the Allegan County Animal Shelter
1️⃣ Dog was placed into a foster home (Chevy, we are so happy that after almost a year in our care, you get to live in a home for awhile).
We are so thankful for our adopters, our volunteers, and you our community of supporters. You make us smile on the worst of days and make us grateful everyday (but especially on Thursdays).

❄️Snow‼️ Why snow ⁉️ Hondo has been living in the shelter for seasons; 485 days‼️ Arriving in January 2025, he has experienced two winters at the shelter. This will be his second summer living in a kennel, same routine Every Single Day, unless someone can help him.

🌺He lives for the few moments a volunteer takes him outdoors where he can be his best Hondo self🌳 Playing, walks, outdoor adventures, bird watching, water, and toys are some of his loves. He's easily a favorite of staff and volunteers, maybe he could be yours too?

Meet Dwigt, a soft-hearted sweetheart who's just waiting for the right person to bring him out of his shell. This gentle, 35-pound pup may be a little shy at first, but once he trusts you, you'll have a snuggly, happy best friend for life.

At 4 years old, Dwigt came to the shelter as a stray and is uneasy in the shelter environment. He'd likely thrive in a home with some patience and TLC. Whether you've been thinking about fostering or adopting, please consider this wonderful boy.

Dingo would also like to let you know that he was just adopted!!

📣Dingo would like you to know📣 the Allegan County Animal Shelter will be closed to the public on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Our staff will still be on-site providing essential care for shelter animals throughout the holiday.

We will resume normal public hours on Tuesday, May 26.

UPDATE: Scone has a foster home, but he still needs to find his furever home!!

🆘🚨LONELINESS ALERT🆘🚨 "I'm all by myself. My siblings and mom have gotten adopted, and I'm glad for them, but I don't like being alone. And I need to be with others to grow up to be a good dog. And I really want to be a good dog." -Scone
