We are prepared to manage animals in disasters or other emergencies when local resources become overwhelmed or need added support. We also provide other prevention and public education services to reduce or minimize the need for disaster response altogether. CMDART actively promotes, whenever possible and

r. By aiding the animals during a disaster, we reduce the mental and physical impact of the incident on both the owner and animal. We also help reduce the risk of compromising public safety when owners refuse to leave without their pets or when they show up at human evacuation sites where there is no provision for their animals.

With the increasing possibility of a winter weather event in the next couple of days, and with the expected very low temperatures, SPD wishes to remind the public of the importance of keeping your fur babies safe.

SPD will be out looking for neglected animals and violators will be dealt with accordingly.

As always, in the event of a severe weather event we will keep the community updated on road closures and safety hazards.

DES MOINES, Iowa — After rescuing a cat Friday, the Animal Rescue League of Iowa is urging vigilance for pets and strays as temperatures continue to drop. The ARL of Iowa shared on Facebook just before 2 p.m. that a stray cat had been rushed to them this morning for emergency care after it was [.....

The cold weather is no place for pets, but unfortunately, Metro Detroit rescue crews say they are overrun with dogs being left out in the wintry conditions.

Haaaaa. Hilarious, but good advice. I've never really understood the bread and milk thing but I'm convinced that it goes back to the depression somehow.

🚨URGENT WINTER ADVISORY: OPERATION BREAD & MILK 🚨

Alright, listen up everyone. The weather peeps are calling for upwards of 24 inches of snow, and we’ve already seen the frantic look in your eyes at the grocery store. You know the drill.

❄️ THE BREAD & MILK SITUATION
We aren’t sure why, but apparently, as soon as the first snowflake hits the ground, the entire town decides they need to make milk sandwiches.
If you haven't already cleared out the dairy aisle, please remember: you are being snowed in for a day or two, not launching a three-year mission to Mars.

🛑 ESSENTIAL vs. NON-ESSENTIAL TRAVEL
It's not worth driving in this to go get a bag of Takis. It's worth driving in this if you need to go to the hospital, or work somewhere that's required to keep society functioning. Tell a friend.
Unless you want to explain to an officer why you’re stuck in a ditchy ditch while clutching a bag of "Fuego" chips, STAY OFF THE ROADS.

🚙 "BUT I HAVE ALL-WHEEL DRIVE!"
Cool. That just means you’ll get stuck in the ditch 20 feet further than everyone else. Gravity and 2 feet of snow do not care about your trim package.

📋 THE PLAN:
✅ Stay home, watch the Pats crush the Broncos
✅ Eat the mountain of bread and milk you just bought.
✅ Wear your Drake Maye pajamas.
✅ Do not make us come find you because you had a "Takis Emergency."
‼️ Most importantly: Don’t Crime.

Stay safe, stay warm, and please—for the love of all things holy—stay home

GO PATS! 🥇🏈

CMDART taught a workshop to the Littleton Boxborough local emergency planning committee last week on intake procedures for emergency animal sheltering. What a great time we had with this group who really cares about pre-planning for their communities.
So many people misunderstand the complexity of what it takes to run emergency animal shelters during disasters.

Good job. There's no one more appreciative than people that walk out of a disaster with nothing on their back and nothing for their pets. .... Thank you for what you did in Holyoke. Story in the link.

Fire is the number one disaster in our region. CMDART keeps a supply of goods for multifamily fire events and Resource Recovery Sites responses. We are looking for people that we can train to respond to the clients who are affected by fire and other large incidents. Our need is to have people who can deliver goods to clients, who can pick up just in time supplies, help with transport of trailers of goods, possible pet transport, assist with grief support for pet loss, and manage a resource booth at the Resource Recovery Sites. Because we cover all of Central Mass, we hope to train more volunteers who could assist with these needs. Contact us via our volunteer page at our website www.cmdart.org
