Here is your chance to get an answer to your questions directly from the candidates running for office. A chance to hear their platforms, their point of view on how they plan to make a positive change for our communities.

Come out Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, to the Flowers Center for the Performing Arts, 312 College St., Ozark, AL, from 1:00 – 5:00, for the Southeast Alabama Democratic Candidate Meet & Greet.

You will have an opportunity to ask the candidates about their plans to slow down your rising utility costs. What is their plan to slow down the upward trend of cooling and heating your home?

Ask them about “data centers” and how they plan to manage the building of data centers in your community. What are their views on the impacts of data centers on the environment, the economy, and the health hazards to you and your family?

You will have an opportunity to talk one-on-one with candidates of your choice, there will be eight candidates in person and three candidate representatives, all ready and willing to answer your questions.

Are you concerned about the SAVE Act and how it may impact your ability to register to vote in Alabama? Now you have the chance to ask the candidate for Secretary of State what his views are.

How about our farmers in southeast Alabama? The Alabama State Agricultural Commission candidate will be there; it is your chance to see how he can help you endure the up and down tariff wars.

I just received this from the League of Women Voters for anyone interested…

Hello, All--

Wallace Community College and Enterprise State CC have approved our plan for the back-to-school voter registration drive. This year the academic calendars start only a day apart, so the schedule will be a little clumsy. Enterprise has its opening day on Wednesday the 19th of August, and Wallace is on the 20th. We'll set up at ESCC on the 19th, to catch the bookstore traffic for the MWF schedule, then switch over to Wallace the next two days. Fortunately ESCC is having a welcome event on the 25th, so that is our chance to catch their TTh students. That is usually a good turnout, and we have a table.

If you would like a chance to sit in for a couple hours at either school, just email here. This is usually our best registration result for the year, and the environment is rewarding.
