Happy Thanksgiving from the Beaverhead FFA! We are thankful for the incredible support from our community, our outstanding FFA Alumni & Supporters group, and many others.

We are also grateful for the farmers, ranchers, truckers, veterinarians, and thousands of others involved in the agricultural industry that made today's (and every day's) meal possible. Enjoy a restful day spent with family and friends!

The wishes you and your loved ones a wonderful Thanksgiving day. Today, and everyday, we are thankful for our amazing members, advisors, our continuous supporters, and the agriculture community.

Here are some highlights from this week's Montana FFA Ag Expo events held on the campus at MSU-Bozeman. This year there were over 1900 students representing 76 Montana FFA Chapters in attendance!

Ag Mechanics:
3rd place Junior team consisting of Nathanial Romkema (1st place individual), Finley Lewellen (9th place individual), Eli Crites, Jackson Bergeson, & Mia Michaluk
8th place Senior team consisting of Asher Burch, Billy Bob Barcomb, Corban Lewellen, Payton McWilliams, Ashlyn Burk, & Dally Woosley

Forestry:
3rd place team consisting of Corban Lewellen (12th individual), Taylor Yecny, Samantha George, Addison Goolsby, Payton McWilliams, Ben Plovanic, and Scarlett Garrison.

Livestock Judging:
11th place Junior team consisting of Mia Michaluk, Jackson Bergeson, Sage Rhodes, Nathanial Romkema, Finley Lewellen, Kendalyn Martin, and Zane Garrison.
1st place Senior team consisting of Billy Bob Barcomb (8th place individual), Tessa Johnson, Lily Malesich, Ashlyn Burk, Kenndyl Meine, Dally Woosley, Scarlett Garrison, Rylee Ford, Leneva Miller, and Evelyn Tolman.

Meats Evaluation:
11th place team consisting of Scarlett Garrison, Ben Plovanic, Zane Garrison, and Eli Crites.

Range Science:
6th place team consisting of Brekken Venn, Rylee Ford, Savannah Nelson, and Addison Goolsby.

Veterinary Science:
20th place Junior team consisting of Sage Rhodes (2nd Jr individual) & Kendalyn Martin.
2nd place senior team consisting of Taylor Yecny (1st place individual), Samantha George, Winona Wagoner, Leneva Miller, Tessa Johnson, Jhett Hoffmann, Evelyn Tolman, Lily Malesich, and Kenndyl Meine.

Billy Bob Barcomb also received a special community service commendation from the State FFA Advisor during the Thursday night awards banquet, where we got to hear the Governor speak.

Congratulations to Beaverhead FFA member Josi Ward for receiving the American FFA degree today! The American Degree is the highest degree of membership an FFA member can attain, and represents the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. Just over 5,000 FFA members (out of over a million nationwide) earn this prestigious award. This year we had three other members earn their American Degree that were unable to attend in person: Patsea Farrow, Tel Holland, and Jon Peterson. Congratulations everyone on your outstanding achievement!

Friday was a busy day filled with tours at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the National FFA Center, and the Indianapolis Zoo! We also spent time at the College & Career Expo, had dinner at the Rathskeller, and went to Hanna Haunted Acres!

Congratulations to this hard-working group of horse judgers! Our Horse Evaluation team of Molli, Nona, Tessa, and Leneva received a Silver rating as a team at the 2025 National FFA Horse Evaluation Contest! Individually, Molli received a Gold rating, and Nona, Tessa, and Leneva received Silver. Additionally, Molli, Nona, and Tessa earned their certification from the NHJTCA (National Horse Judging Team Coaches' Association) in Equine Management & Evaluation. Outstanding work ladies! We are all very proud of your hard work and dedication!

Congratulations to these Beaverhead FFA members who finished in the Gold Division and placed 11th in THE NATION yesterday in the Veterinary Science CDE! Individually, Katie, Taylor, and Savanna received gold awards, and Sam received a silver. Incredible work ladies! Congratulations on your hard work and dedication!

We always enjoy a trip to Billings for the NILE! This year over 1000 contestants from 70+ FFA chapters in 7 states were in attendance!

Our Senior Livestock team of Eli (3rd individual), Kenndyl (7th individual), Leneva, and Asher placed 3rd overall.

Our Junior Livestock team of Audrey, Lacy, Zane, and Sage placed 15th overall.

Our Vet Science team of Taylor (1st individual), Sam (9th individual), Nona, and Rowdy placed 1st overall.

Our Meats Evaluation team of Scarlett (10th individual), Rylee, Asher, and Kelly placed 8th overall.

Our Junior Horse Evaluation team of Mia (8th individual), Kendalyn, Josie, and Lacy placed 2nd overall.

Our Senior Horse Evaluation team of Savannah (3rd individual), Leneva (8th individual), Nona, and Tessa placed 3rd overall.

Our Ag Sales team of Rylee, Corban, Savannah, and Addy placed 12th overall.

This crew of BCHS FFA members had a great outing today at the Ruby Valley Invitational/Southwest District Livestock, Forestry, and Range contests. Even though State FFA Convention isn't until April, we already qualified two teams for State competition!

The Forestry team placed 1st in the Southwestern District and 2nd overall. Placing team members were Corban Lewellen (4th individual), Taylor Yecny, Rowdy Mattison, and Sam George

The Range team of Brekken Venn (3rd individual), Porter Hopman (4th individual), and Guy Holt placed 1st in the Southwestern District and 3rd overall.

The Junior Livestock team placed 3rd in the Southwestern District and 4th overall. Placing team members were Audrey Clarno, Landon Lovaas, Sage Rhodes, and Lacy Baughman.

The Senior Livestock team placed 1st in the Southwestern District and 4th overall. Placing team members were Eli Johnson, Kenndyl Meine, Leneva Miller, and Billy Bob Barcomb.

🎵🎵🎵 We're super proud of Beaverhead FFA Chapter Vice President (and all-around talented musician) Rowdy Mattison for being selected to play the clarinet in this year's National FFA Band! 🎶🎶🎶

The National FFA Band is made up of members from across the nation, and Rowdy was the only FFA member from Montana selected this year. Rowdy will travel to Indianapolis next month to perform in front of over 70,000 FFA members at this year's convention. Rowdy is also an accomplished piano and saxophone player and has performed in the Montana FFA State Talent competition. Great job Rowdy!
