Well let's just say this journey out has been a long one, it is great to be at home base for a moment!
We had an amazing few months out and wouldn't trade it for anything, now time to recover from putting in almost 8600 miles in about 4½ months on the road! If you are wondering why my average mpg is 10.6 for the entire trip it is because when we aren't pulling the camper we are just driving around whatever town we are in running for parts and materials or something and most the miles are under tow. Interstate 80 and 90 really killed my average too, cross winds are horrible..... almost as horrible as $5 per gallon diesel! 😥

Before we left on this last journey the question came up often "is the cost of diesel fuel going to effect your travels this year?" Though I was definitely dreading it and praying like crazy that the prices would go down while watch the fuel apps to try and find the best place and price to get fuel so we could get the most for our money, the fact is that all this comes at a great price and wit great sacrifice! I'm glad we didn't change a thing and even did more than we normally do because it was in that more that I believe we made the largest impact! While it was expensive, the Lord provided as He always does, not always in the way I looked for the help but He made it possible!
We learned each day to trust Him more and more, we found way to make each dollar count and while we couldn't control the cost of fuel we did adjust in the areas we could control. I guess I say all this to say don't put off what God has for you based on what the current temperature or costs are, just adapt and overcome because God called you to do it and not just to calculate it!
If God can make a way for such a small nonprofit as ours to put in almost 8600 miles in a time where diesel prices are as high as they are then He can and will provide what you need to accomplish what He has called you to do!
