Lympstone Village

🙏 🔸Last opportunity to help the village of Lympstone to raise funds to buy the Methodist Hall. A wonderful space for all sorts of creative and many other uses 🔸 🙏

To complement and be used alongside the Village Hall - not to take any of their business.

The Friends of Lympstone Methodist Hall are working hard to try to obtain this hall for the use of Lympstone villagers.
Being in the lower village it offers a good, central spot.

In previous years this was in constant use for fund raising events, parties, exercise and creative classes and offers good accommodation for many uses.

🔶A really great space to complement the Village Hall in a central position🔶

🟢 Please please help if you can!
It’s now the last chance……….

Lympstone Village has until 21st March to raise funds to make an offer to buy the Methodist Hall on Chapel Road for community use.

It’s very important that everyone in the village has a say in order to gauge the collective feeling.
Do you want to have this Hall as a Community asset to supplement and be alongside the main Village Hall?

Please read on for more information detailed below with contact info.

****But first these are the 4 important questions to answer so that village opinion can be guaged****

1. Would you support the purchase of the Methodist Hall by Lympstone Parish Council for the community?

2. Would you support the Parish Council in applying for a loan from the Public Works Loan Board for the purchase of the Hall?

3. Would you make use of the Hall if it was purchased for the village by the Parish Council?

4. Would you donate towards the cost of the purchase?
If so please email the address given at the end of this post.

Lympstone is a community of some 2,000 people with many and varied interest groups.
Whilst the main Village Hall is one of the most important assets in the village, it is used to capacity and finding additional meeting or event space has become difficult.
The Methodist Hall is located at the estuary end of the village and is a useful ‘second space’ much used on a both regular and ad ho basis.

The Hall has been registered as a Community Asset which enables the Parish Council and the wider community a very short space of time to raise funds and make an offer to purchase the Hall prior to it being placed on the open market at the end of March.

The Friends of the Methodist Hall Group was formed to help the Patish Council fund raise, purchase, improve and operate the building on behalf of the village.
