Announcing a major milestone for MFCF!

MFCF has received a historic philanthropic investment of $200,000 to launch the 2026 Summer Discovery program, a six-week summer learning experience designed for 100 rising 8th–10th grade teens from Metro Detroit at Aya House in Detroit’s Eastern Market.

In 2019, MFCF was founded to create a pipeline and Black and Brown nonprofit practitioners. This inaugural program at Aya House is designed to strengthen Detroit's pipeline of the youth changemakers by combining academic instruction, digital skill-building, financial education, and leadership development with exposure to entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and community innovators.

This investment reflects growing confidence in the role community-rooted intermediaries can play in connecting philanthropic capital with local leadership and opportunity.

MFCF is also actively recruiting volunteers, vendors, and partners who want to help shape a powerful summer experience for Detroit youth. Enrollment for the free program opens March 9th and we're hosting info sessions for interested families, partners and volunteers.

Today, we reflect on the life of civil rights leader Reverend Jesse Jackson.
He did not simply speak about change. He organized it. He built institutions around it. He demanded structure behind advocacy and that is exactly what we are doing right now at MFCF.

We are not recruiting passive volunteers.
We are recruiting builders.
We are strengthening the infrastructure because this is not symbolic work, it is structural work.

We are actively recruiting for leadership-focused volunteer roles, including:
• Board & Operations Liaison (Hybrid, Detroit MI)
• Digital Organizer (Remote)
• Event Logistics Lead (Hybrid, Detroit MI)
• Grant Compliance Assistant (Remote)
• Monthly Giving Lead (Remote)
• Youth Chapter Architect (Hybrid, Detroit MI)

If you are on fire for justice and ready to help build durable systems that outlast any one person, we want to hear from you. Apply via the

We’re looking ahead to 2026 with intention and excitement at the Minority Freedom Community Fund. This year’s calendar includes key events and meetings that continue to ground our work in community, accountability, and collective care—creating spaces to reflect, learn, and move our mission forward together.

We’re especially proud to introduce our Donors & Doers Roundtables, a new convening designed to bring funders and community-based leaders into honest, relationship-centered dialogue. These roundtables move beyond traditional presentations to center lived experience, shared learning, and values-aligned action—strengthening how resources and impact come together.

As the holiday season surrounds us with joy, reflection, and togetherness, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has stood with us this year. Your support, partnership, and belief in community-led change have been the foundation of the progress we celebrate today.

This season is a time to honor the strength, resilience, and hope within our communities — and to remember that together, we can continue creating opportunities, lifting voices, and building a future where freedom, equity, and wellness thrive.

May your holidays be filled with peace, joy, and meaningful moments with loved ones. From all of us at MFCF, thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to welcoming a new year of hope, growth, and shared purpose.

This , we’re celebrating the power of 10.

How does that work? It’s simple: Give $10, tell 10 people.

This is not just a transactional exchange and it’s not just about exponential impact. It's about and creating community.

Since our founding in 2020, MFCF has:

🏪 Supported businesses during COVID
đź’¸ Provided grants for community programming
🤝Connected people with funds to people with causes
🏦 Boosted minority business growth through fiduciary services.

Community is at our core, and we invite you (and those you invite) to join us and every day for everyday folks just like you.
