October: Global Diversity Awareness Month & Korean Heritage Month

Each October, we join the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) in celebrating Global Diversity Awareness Month — a time to reflect on the rich tapestry of cultures, perspectives, and identities that connect our global Peace Corps community.

For Friends of Korea (FOK), this month holds double significance — it is also Korean Heritage Month, a time to honor the enduring friendships, shared experiences, and cultural understanding that continue to unite Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and friends of Korea across generations.

Through our upcoming “My Korean Memories by Friends of Korea” Networking Event, we celebrate stories of connection, belonging, and lifelong friendship born through the spirit of Peace Corps service and cross-cultural exchange.

Let us continue to listen, learn, and celebrate diversity — across nations, generations, and hearts. Together, we embody one mission: to build peace through friendship, understanding, and shared memories.

📅 Event: My Korean Memories by Friends of Korea Networking Event
** Date & Time: October 25(Sat), 2 - 6 p.m.
📍 Location: Korean-American Cultural Center of Michigan(KACCM)
