An academic based group mentoring program working with youth continuously from the 6th grade through the 8th grade using a combination of youth development strategies including peer plus mentoring and exposure to the world outside of their neighborhood. I'm Going to College is effective in the arena of helping instill in each child a desire to go to college and assist them in the pursuit of achiev

ing the skill set needed to be successful in college. At the end of their first summer session, participants will have a group of college students from their summer session to be accessible as mentors to help them throughout their school years, in academics, socially, and encouraging positive decision making.

: 8th grader Devion Brown took 3rd place in the city wide science fair for his research project on controlling the moods of seniors through music. The study includes discoveries of which music to use to get seniors more active, music to get seniors better rest and areas in between. The result of his project will be implemented in the senior citizen home where the study was conducted. Middle School
